The new site goes super slow for me

Everything loads slowly, and when I type there is a lag. Does this happen to other people?
 
it was unusable for me when we first launched a couple of hours ago, but it's actually pretty decent for me at the moment.
 
It's happening to everyone.

Clearing cookies / cache helps, but it's still mega-ultra slow.

I think this happened last re-code. Everything switches over to the new servers or code or whatever, and runs slow for the first few days...

...did you see what cult has disappeared? Bad news. Don't say it's name.
 
Yeah, we're gona be working on improving speeds over the next week.

NS is settling into it's new home...
 
yea, it was realllllllllllllly slow for me, but now it's moving at a reasonable rate. props paul, you guys are the best
 
mines still slow.... hopefully it'll speed up like it seems to be for everyoneelse
 
i love everything about the new site. my only problem i have encountered is i cant figure out how to invite people into cults again? am i just stupid or is there no place to enter someones name to invite them?
 
Step 1: get the speed up to "usable".

Step 2: work out kinks in new system.

Step 3: increase speed to "good".

Keep in mind that there is a much higher traffic volume what with people trying out new features on the site and be patient, folks. It is way quicker now than when it first came back online, I'll say that.
 
Yeah, it's been way quicker for me. Of course right when I hit quote reply to say this, my page almost timed out. Haha oh well.
 
yeah it has been slow for me, but i'm on the schools computers so i figured they just suck, but even at home they blow
 
After experiencing the first put up, and about 400 kids browsing like crazy it was bound to be slow. I just can't wait for it all to be done. GO PAUL...we will cheer for you!
 
I'm experiencing a crazy lag when I type in the box. It only happens to me when I use Safari. If I use Firefox everything is fine. Any other mac users with similar problems?
 
Holy shit.. somehow I got booted off, logged back in and as of 10-7-06 3am EST this site is screaming fast!!!
 
MUCH BETTER NOW!!! And its not the computer I´m usinign either. I´m happy now. Site looks sick.
 
It was super slow for like 10 minutes earlier, nothing would load really, but now its back to a good speed. Weird
 
when it first happenned my computer wouldnt even load it it told me the server is too stupid to respond.

then it was fine

now it WAs uber slow and i think it will be uber slow still
 
Pretty much all today was so slow. It would take atleast 1 to 2 minutes for a page to load. Hopefully someone can get this fixed.
 
Really slow last night, didn't even bother going on. This morning it's a little faster though.
 
With safari its reallllly slow, especially when you type. but now im using Camino (firefox especially made for macs) and i'm all right...

so, any wonders why its soo slow only with safari? (i'm using 3.0)
 
fuck its so fast now, and im still on safari, sweet

for the past couple days its been unbearable though, i spelt everything wrong because typing would be soo slow
