The New Machete's -wtf?

As many of you may or may not know, Volant was bought out last year by Gen-X sports. I rode they're new machetes for this year. They're not steel. What The FUck. Volants were Volants because they were steel. how the fuck are they going to get a highly competitive market to trust them by changing what they're skis are made of. Not all the skis are changed, I know, but the machete's are no longer steel. That sucks, I loved my old ones because I wouldn't rip chunks outta the topsheet. NOw they're busted, and they're sendin me the new ones. Oh well.I just thought it was a fucked up move.

yeah, I liked the steel. we'll see how they work out this year.

I have a pair of 3 yr old Machetes... and i think their great a tad stiff for some stuff but still!

i love my machetes! i got last year's 69's and they're the best skis i've ever ridden. they aren't as heavy as everyone says they are.

yaeh, I was looken at the 69s last year, but had no cash at the time. wish I had bought them. and isn't it prettyhard to cut off your leg with skis if they are attached to the bottom of your feet? don't even answer that.

at the SIA show I saw them and was like what the fuck and one of the guys working there said they had too many problems w/ the ski breaking so they stopped making the metal ones

the only reason they kept breaking is because they put stupid plastic tails on them that snapped off all the time. Fucked. i had old volant N Zones, they were awesome.

The steel thing wasn't selling that well...so just the first 'topsheet' is steel so it still suposedley has the Pop that steel had. The Have some good looking models out there...wouldn't mind giveing them a try,.

yea volants are heavy, my legs are so tired after skiing a day on my old machetes although they do bust through any type of snow

I have nothing against Volant, but I can tell you that everything that Gen-X has ever made has been absolute crap and garbage. It will be interesting to see if Volant turns the compnay around, or if Gen-X will ruin Volant.

I have last year's 69s, and I absolutely love them. they're sturdy and nice looking. I thought Gen-x was still going to make them with the steel topsheet? Or did I just read that they're making some of them with and some without. ok, I have last year's darksides too, so I'm interested to compare them. I guess it's kind of both ends of the scale.
