The New Canon rebel xsi is here (this makes your XTI trash.)

it includes liveview, a 12.2 megapixel sensor, 14 bit processing and raw,3.5 fps continuous shooting, a 3 inch viewfinder, longer lasting battery, and sensor cleaning,

one of the best improvements is thicker materials. I picked one of these up and it doesnt feel as cheap and toy like as the xti did.

price is the same as always: $799 for body only and $899 for the body and the kit lens (18-55mm IS lens)

live view is a piece of shit. i dont know why people want live view. k, you can hold it away from you to look the the lcd. cool. you better bed at at least 1/250 in order for a sharp pictures. also the view live is manual focus only. other then that it is sweet. i wanna sell my 20d and get a mark 3.

actually live view is pretty cool. I thought the same thing as you originally that it was a useless feature that I would never use. and then I got my 40d and I must say enabling it and taking pictures from ground level is cool. being able to enable live view zooming in to 10x and then manually focussing on something too small to see in your viewfinder is pretty sweet especially when your taking pictures from really far away. also live view works with canon camera tools. so you can connect it to your computer and get the image displayed on your computer. and control every single feature from your computer.

trust me dont knock liveview until you have tried it. its a feature thats their to use when you want it and it does absolutely no harm when its off. so if you dont like it you never have to see it.

LiveView is absolutely a useful tool for studio, portrait, and macro applications for the aforementioned reasons. Auto focus can be used with the AF On button.

The 20D will out-perform the XSi in every category except image quality, because of the increased bit-depth and Digic III processor, high ISO performance and LiveView functionality.

I hear you, I wasn't hating on the 20D just shedding light on the innovations of the XSi. For any sports shooting the hands-down choice would be 20D over XSi.
