any one here heard of mt mackenzie in revelstoke? They are putting in some lifts on that hill this summer, and is gonna be the sickest hill ever. In a few years its gonna be quite built out and evetually its gonna have the biggest vertical drop in North America. Plus revy gets a shit load of dry snow. Sooo Stoked!!!

yeah theres been quite a bit of talk in reginals. my dad is the project manager for all the buildings being put in there. ive seen the blueprints for teh entire mountain and its pretty awesome i have to say. it will never be as big as whistler, but yes it will haev the biggest vertical drop in north america. They are not putting chairlifts in this summer, they are putting in a gondola only. chairlifts will begin going in next spring. it will be extremly expewnsive because condos will be starting at 750,000 each or about 1000$ a square foot.

they are putting in a gondola and one chairlift THIS fall. The hill opens december 22. Definately will be some good touring from the top of the lifts this winter, seeing as how the chair doesnt quite make it to the top yet. Hopefully they have cut a ski out or the north bowl, that'd be some sick terrain back there.

i havent heard word of the chairlift but their would be a skiout already? i would assume they could use the catskiing track as a ski out...i went cat skiing there and the trails have been cut for 18 years sooo...im pretty sure trail wise their pretty good to go.

yea you can see the chairlift from town right now up top hte mountain. Yea there should be a ski out already cut, assuming they cat skied the north bowl.

That actually sounds awesome. Nearby Kicking Horse is always a sweet place to ski because of the snowfall. And the retard ratio on hill there is surprisingly low. The west-side of the rockies always gets so much snow because of the rain shadow created by the mountain range, hence why places like Nakiska on the east side are mostly man made.

Sounds exciting, now there's a reason to stop by other than sledding, there has always been great heli-skiing, cat-skiing, sledding around revy. Hopefully it doesn't blow up and get retarded like Whistler, but I doubt it since it isn't in close vicinity to a large metropolitan area of 5million+

kicking horse doesnt get retarded amounts of snow, its just no one skis it out so there is fresh for a long time. revelstoke is in the kootenays not the rockies. it gets butt raped by ullr, in a good way.
