The mystery of the Russian Ghost Ship

So apparently a Russian cargo ship went missing in the North Atlantic over 2 weeks ago and this is the first anyone is hearing about it. Supposedly it was carrying almost 2 million dollars worth of Finnish timber and supposedly they had repelled a hijacking attempt earlier in their voyage. Now they've vanished and nobody knows where to, and non-Russian naval authorities have claimed to have seem the vessel at times since their reported disappearance.
NOW practically the whole Russian navy is out looking for this thing, which begs the question: why would Russia, a country still wallowing in some of the First World's most dire economic straits, expend such vast resources to look for a ship that only contained like 10 sailors and 2 million dollars worth of timber?
Unless it wasn't timber at all...

Seriously, it's not in Russia's nature to execute a dynamic search effort for such a small number of people, they just don't care that much...there has to be ulterior motive
 
ya it is weird for russia to do that, and i still dont see how ships ans tuff just go missing with no trace at all
 
reading the article, it more or less just looks like russia pissed someone off and they wanted their revenge.

it also reminded me of the first mission in call of duty 4, when you board a russian freighter because it has some nuclear weapon related things on board, and winds up getting sunk.

 
Russia is an impoverished former #1 super power with only a handful of decently profitable exports...one of which is obviously oil/natural gas, but another is their massive surplus of leftover weapons and weapon components...that ship was probably full of missile canisters or something headed somewhere, if not something worse...
 
Russia is full of humanitarians you stereotyping asshole. I bet it was a shipment full of puppies for orphaned kids, why the hell wouldn't they try to find a ship full of puppies?!!

oh wait, by puppies I mean warheads and by orphans I mean militant groups :)
 
Take a look at this part:

'Earlier in its voyage, the ship reported being boarded by up to 10 armed men as it sailed through the Baltic Sea on 24 July, but said the intruders left the vessel on an inflatable boat after 12 hours.'

Just beacuse the boat left doesn't mean they're still not onboard...

Bet they are holding it for ransom or something and the Russians don't want to let it out because they might look bad???

the masked men that boarded it were looking for drugs, after gathering the crew of 15 they searched the ship for drugs, then left, according to a report before the ship disappeared, this highjacking occured off the coast of sweeden
so im guessing they were smuggling drugs.... whether the russian navy knows about it (drugs) or not
 
1.Russia is a more pure form if democracy than the US

2.Russia's military is in such decay that they have no chance in finding the missing ships

3.Russia doesnt have the money to look for a ship only carring 2 million dollars and 10 crew

4.During the collapse of the ussr about ten nuclear weapons went missing

5. I speculate that Russian scientist sold nuclear weapons secrets to Korea, India and Pakistan

Russia doesnt give a fuck about nuclear weapons. This makes me think theirs not any Nuclear weapons on board but something far worse such as a "super pague" a man made combination of the worst biological agents known to man that would have a high percentage of death and would be transmitted easily even more so then the common cold. Somthing that this realeased in a major city would spread all over the glob in a few days. Its funny how remence the cold war even today might kill all of us.

They found the ship, it went missing for three days, no biggie, maybe the shipping company will make sure they install trackers now, or just have them turned on.
 
i gotta say, its no coincidence this incident comes so soon after shark week. it's gotta be killer russian great whites with nuclear warheads, im fucking sure of it.
