For outerwear, Arc'teryx is seriously over priced. I love the brand and they make amazing gear but 700 for a gore-text jacket? Fuck that shit

Faction candide 4.0s are over $900. For a plain ol' 122mm waisted, traditional shape pow ski. With a balsa core....

Pretty much everything in the southern hemisphere is about 200 bucks more expensive for skis.

i dont know if i would consider carbon skis all that overpriced, expensive yes. The materials that make the ski justify the increase in price.

For skis: Volant or Lacroix, Lacroix's top model (if we don't count rare limit editions) is a € 8500,- glorious blend of carbon kevlar and titanium guaranteed to make any nouveau riche happy. Still have a soft spot for that company, they made the best monoskis.

For clothing, just step in any high-end French/Swiss mountain resort boutique and they will sell you designer jackets and pants for 2K over a brand new Golf. Too many brands to call out.

Just wait till you start getting interested in touring gear.

me and my friend both got into the backcountry stuff and took a class and everything. its really expensive but... in my opinion its totally worth the pow/fresh turns

-beacon 300

-probe 50

-shovel 50

-dukes / guardian bindings 375

- avy class 70

- skins 150

total - 995 $

I dont get why you can buy a pair of mittens for at least 200 even if they are incredibly nice, thats way to much

You need to wheel and deal. I always get a good deal at zimmermans and ken jones(now proctor or whatever). I get pricing between the two places just like shopping for a new car and it also helps that I have been shoping at ken jones since I was 8.

definitely true, but every day you use that gear rather than buying a lift ticket youre making a SERIOUS dent in the amount you paid. yeah yeah, season passes, but in some cases those are like a grand so there ya go

So what are you're thoughts on the new Jiberish outerwear for as much or more? Ha ha.

$92 for a cotton hoodie? You all realize it probably costs Jiberish about $3.00 a hoodie. This is a COTTON HOODIE. You could buy your own heat press and a bulk purchase of blank hoodies and start your own business for what they're charging

Does anybody mountain bike... HOLY SHIT! A solid DH rig is 5-9 grand. You can buy a car, years worth of ski gear, and copious amounts of drugs for that same price.

Well maybe if you ride the park but say your going on a multi day bc trip. The last thing you want is cold wet gloves. Spending more on nice gear is one of the treats of getting older and havin more disposable income.

I can assure you it costs them much more to make that hoodie. It is 100% worth it too. If rather spend the money to get something high quality that will last.

That's not high quality.

in the long run it can actually be cheaper or at least equivalent in price to cheap ones because they will last far longer as well

Not in my experience. I have had $60 gloves and mitts and they only last a season if that. Whereas my current ones which cost allot more are lookin almost new after two seasons.

It's a total bummer. Jiberish did so much for freeskiing in terms of style. They're stuff used to be much more affordable. They're fucking over the ski bums who want style and the people who helped build their brand

I honestly need to sell all of my og jib & saga to make half the amount I need for boots. And I'm still making like $500!

Really, because that experience seems to back up my statement exactly

How? If I get a season out of a $60 glove but will probably get 4 out of a $150 glove how is going for four pairs of $60 gloves cheaper then one pair of expensive gloves?

Not really. One of those will easily outlast your frame.

Since we're on the topic of bikes, as much as I think that Knolly makes sick rigs, their prices seem crazy. I mean almost 3 grand for an aluminum frame? If I was spending that kind of money I'd just go carbon.
