The Midwest Open at Cascade Mountain

The Midwest Open is Cascade Mountain's signature two-day Superpipe event. This open-format competition will feature four divisions: Men's Snowboarding, Women's Snowboarding, Men's Skiing and Women's Skiing. Riders will compete for a split of the $5000 purse.

Following Saturday Superpipe Qualifiers will be a night rail jam.

Registration is now online. You will be able to reserve your spot online for the Midwest Open through March 2, 2005. Doing so assures you one of 150 spots in the competition.

Current Midwest Open Schedule (subject to change)

Friday, March 4

o Competitor registration 5:00pm-10:00pm (registration will end earlier if all spots are full)

o Practice on Superpipe 10:00am-10:00pm (Competitors only)

Saturday, March 5

o Late registration 8:00am-9:50am (registration will end earlier if all spots are full)

o Competitor practice on Superpipe 9:00am-10:15am

o Mandatory competitor meeting at base of Superpipe

o Superpipe Qualifiers 10:30am-5:00pm

o Rail Jam practice 5:30pm-6:00pm

o Rail Jam 6:00pm-7:00pm

o Rail Jam awards 7:30pm

Sunday, March 6

o Check-in 8:00am-9:45am

o Competitor practice on Superpipe 9:00am-10:15am

o Superpipe Finals 10:30am-12:30pm

o Superpipe Awards 1:00pm

When you say 'no slopestyle this year', I am pretty sure you're thinking of an entirely different comp, as this one has not been held previously.

 
The last Midwest Skier Open was MS04. Which is no longer a event. Paul Prins was the one who put on this kick ass event. He is in France for the year and is busy with College but who knows maybe somewhere down the road one will happen again. They won't be a event with the same name unless he puts it on. So the midwest open is close but different.

If you want Slopestyle go to the Hoot–En–Anny at Boyne Mountain its the same weekend.
