Honestly the first time I saw the flick I did not like it at all. BUT......then after watching it a couple of times I began to fully appreciate and actually notice how sick many of the shots are. It's one of those movies where you notice more and more sick things every time. To those that don't appreciate the skiing try skiing the easy half of those lines they rip in the woods at half of their speed...they'd make us all look like chumps. Great movie, great skiing, Callum is going to be a dominator...

I just remembered the insane Urban seg from Massive, how the fuck did I forget that. It was a whole seg of with no music, and just the sounds of Tanner raping urbans.
 
I agree. Callum gets a little overshadowed by Sean but Callum definetly stepped it up this year like no other. He's a beast. The MASSIVE is sick. sick lines, sick music, sick skiing, a little filler with the breakfast and "here's karl" scene, but it was amazing no doubt.
 
I actually disagree with everyone else flaming you, I thought the thread was very aptly named. In fact, you should go out and start more failure threads, hopefully massive failures~
 
uhhh this thread frustrates me. if u want park skiing and urban go fucking see a different movie, you knew that the massive was all about bc and pow, so dont complain. and it was soo hyped up coz people were super stoked on the thought of seeing all the pow. if every movie made had the same shit then it would be fucking boring, if you dont want to watch only pow and bc then dont watch that movie! fuck!
 
Its a matter of opinion and i think thats what the thread creator was getting at. I loved the Massive. I personally love reggae music so it worked for me. I think the riding in Massive progressed the sport both in the BC and in urban featues. I hated Claim, thought it was horrible but a lot of people i know liked it. same with Hunting Yeti. It all matter of opinion and what kind of skiing and music you like.
 
That's such a closed minded opinion... And it was a sick movie, but what made it sick was that it was different from park and urban movies. Not all ski movies should be mainly about park and urban, those are only 2 of the 3 (there's actually probably more) areas of skiing. So if you really want a park/urban flick then go buy Turbo or some other movie

Dont get me wrong, this isn't hate on Tanner, his movie last year was one of the best at all time.
The web updates on Redbull had better camera angles than the actual movie. And the soundtrack was the worst EVER!!!! Im sorry but a couple Reggae songs is tolerable, but a full movie of garbage underground reggae is almost impossible to sit through. Dana absolutely murdered it, and there were some other nifty tricks along the way. It just didn't meet my expectations after seeing last years savage display of destruction. Maybe this dissatisfaction is due to the Massive premiering after Thats it Thats all (The best shred film ever).

 
well what did you expect? Cali P and Tanner Hall are really good friends along with Kya Bamba and honestly i thought that it was awsome.
 
we could have expected tanner to take our tastes into opinion. it's not as if everyone who skis likes Cali P, or even reggae for that matter.

Buy Turbo, reasons also had an equaly insane urban edit in my eyes..if not better, i mean no one bets wallisch and hornbeck, but it was fucken insane..

you're so fuckin ignorant it isnt even funny. ima park rat completely and I appreciated the Massive like no other movie i have seen before. u couldnt even ski a single one of those smallest pillow lines. none the less throw cab 9s off them . There is a reason that Tanner does not want to film on park jumps anymore... take a guess
 
not to mention prolly the most solid overall soundtrack of all times. Cali p fuckin killed it straight up , there are few ski movies today with music i can stand - massive i could of popped the dvd in and tunred off the screen and been stoked on the playlist alone. /claim sittin up on the balcony for the premier with Tanner sparkin Ls and sippin on my dub Styrofoam i have never felt more stokde on seeing a ski movie before.
