The Mars Volta Question

how come Son et lumiere and Intergalactic ESP are two diffrent songs, if you play them back to back they fit in perfectly.... is it some kind of intro to the cd or something?

^haha yeah, heaps of CD's have intros

By the way, it's 'Inertiatic ESP' not 'Intergalactic ESP', just in case you've got it under the wrong name

Because you don't listen to TMV songs. You listen to TMV albums. In one sitting. Much like you listen to all of Thick as a Brick in one sitting.

^Word. Every album is a story. To listen to just one song is just....well, its a downright crime.

I can't sit and listen to one song, and if I do I get sucked in an end up listening to the rest of the album.

my friend just sent me the corresponding story that goes along with the "de-loused in the comatorium" album. it is crazy insane. it incorporates the songs and the lyrics into the story. i'm kinda sad that i dont have time to read it right now.

^word, haha on my iTunes playlist it goes:

A Missing Chromosome

Frances The Mute

Deloused In The Comatorium

I get so into it that when the next artist comes up (The Matches) I'm like '...whoah' coz I've been sitting at the comp for the last hour listening to The Mars Volta's entire discography

Exactly. Another example is that you haven't lived if you've never listened to Dark Side of the Moon in one sitting... the songs segue one into another. Or The Wall.
