i live in toronto, and have a loaded dervish with randal r-II trucks, rush abec 5 bearings, and original skateboard wheels. im getting either otang durians or stims this weekend so i can slide better. i like to carve and just go fast, even though tdot isnt a very hilly city we have a few valleys so i make do with what i can. tell me about your longboard life, im just really bored and kind of interested

I also live in toronto. Hit up long board living in kensington dont waste ur money on orangotangs get some sector nine race forms in 80 a you wont regret it. They slide nicer than any otang and not every single kid in toronto rocks them.

ya i know longboard living, theyre the shop that does the group seshes every so often right? and on another note, sector 9 makes good wheels?

Fuckyes, Landy Dropspeed w/ yellow zombies & abec7 10mm & bear 10mm trucks.

Speaking of which if anyone has any extra 2 10mm bearings & a 10mm nut I will BUY them from you.

got my self an original skateboard apex 37 (not the carbon, which is better;)), original s8 trucks (red springs), bones redz ceramic bearings and abec 11 lime zigzags.

mostly a carver, which is what the board was made for. i am considering getting some otang stimulus to learn sliding. treat my board like my baby, cleaning it all the time

depends entirely on the board man, my buddy had a Globe (I don't know model name because it wasn't mine) but that thing didn't handle well at all, just didn't feel like anything I'd want to be riding for what he paid. To the poster getting the short board, that thing should probably be dope though, another of my friends had one (yet again no model name) but I rode it around a few times and had tons of fun.

On another note I go to school and ride in London if anybody else rides there, Arbor Assault, Gullwing's, bones swiss, Arbor slalom wheels and getting O-tang stimulus's soon

My Bc eel should ship this week

i got reds barings, paris 180s, and Orangatang Durains 80a (orange)

bustin maestro, 0tang 80a in-heat, bear trucks, reds bearings.

high speed of like 35-40

like hills and long gradually declining roads

i actually have a board i got for free last year at a school raffle lol. its not that great, its a gravity carve but still fun to shred on.

here's an edit i made from footage about a year ago of my friend longboarding. i have some more vids on my vimeo profile.

yes. The 78a and 80a center set 70mm raceforms are one of the best freeride wheel on the market. It's probably the smoothest slide I've experienced...ever

Yes the race formulas are pretty good but i would reccomend looking at abec 11, retros, or o-tang. O-tang is super hyped but they are good but little on the expensive side.

i have a sector 9 sand wedge and i love it. learming to slide was a bit hard though, hopfully my next longboard will have better sliding wheels.

I've never really longboarded much but I'm planning to do it a lot more this year. Once I save up a little more money I'm buying a new board.

you have a very similar set up to mine. i just switched out my rush abec-5's yesterday for some sector 9 cosmic's. i luv them :) and i looove my dervish. needs new trucks though. i have orangatang in-heat wheels, 75mm 83a and they are nice and slidey, but only when i want them to be. once i save up for some trucks, i will have my dream set up.

Does anybody know anything about kracked skulls boards? I want to get a long lard just for like cruising at the beach or longer flatter stretches and my friend can get me a good deal on one

Kracked skulls are really good boards for the price. they are B.B. (Baltic Burch) construction. Cheaper but durable wood. They are super reliable boards. It is worth the money to get one

its a great board. If i were to buy a new board, it would have to be between the 9two5 and the Timemachine. I really like the shape of the timemachine, im interested on how it rides. Im going to wait until they start incorporating kevlar into their boards though, it should be soon

im not in it either. i dont see why people care about longboards so much anyways. i have one, it gets me from A to B.i dont see what all the hype is about, doing shifties and stuff.

im sure some serious longboarders say the exact same thing about skiing. its all about your interest level in certain things, some people enjoy different things on different levels

Bustin Maestro 38"

bear trucks

bones red bearings

Boca Bustin 70 mm 81a

So far within a few weeks i've learned Cross stepping, the look back, shuvit, and a little bit of sliding (still gettin at it)

PM me if you can help me with sliding or show me a few dancing tricks (kinda hard on a 38')

i dont like dancing very much, mostly because i find it ridiculously fucking hard. but its super sick to watch though

Arbor Fish

what ever gullwings that come with it, soon to upgrade

some purple orangatangs my buddy gave me

bones super reds bearings

just started last summer, use longboarding for commuting more than anything, but love every second of it!

ahahah thanks man i ended up getting them in 82a, still wearing them in but they slide pretty nicely already, thanks for suggesting them

Riding a longboard on flat ground is DUMB. Go fast or go home!
I'm friends with patrick switzer. /claim
hahahaha.

I also have a loaded dervish that I bought off a friend. Only problem is all I am good at is cruising on a longboard. So I have a really nice longboard for sliding and cant do shit with it.

Everyone seems to be so stoked on the dervish.... Why is this? If I was going to get a new board I'd for sure go with a Banghra, the shape and the way it has a tail on both ends looks so fun!

The dervish is great, I just think people are overlooking another really ill deck. Has anyone tried both of these?

Earthwing mystery model, 4pres purps, randals yada yada. I love my deck, got into it about a year ago and have been doing lots of sliding, dancing, and bombing big hills. Great way to pass the time in the summer as well as a useful mode of transportation for semi-short distances.
