im a tech at a ski shop. dont buy the reactor until new design and concepts take place. its been out on demo and ive skied it, it pops off, the heelpiece decomposes, and the track slipps. i talked to the local line rep. redesign will take place next year, as for now, dont buy it! and be sceptical next year. i love line, im on a pair of mike nick's. but i am very dissapointed they put a binding like that out this year without further stress testing!

has anyone else even looked at this binding? its pretty much and plastic toe and heel place mounted on a 20 pound metal plate. the mounting holes may be good for interchangeability, but it isnt good for the ski - you flex it and the binding wil accually lift off the ski and the tip and tail. if they get rid of the plate, and redesign everything, it might be worth riding in a few years

i have it and like it...look at my post in the 1260 binding thread.

mamothpunk, actually the binding you had probably wasnt screwed in all they way then, there is a plyable rubber under the toe and heal that allow the binding to flex more naturaly then with other ski/binding systems. Plus the four hole system just makes sense, it's done skateboarding and snowboarding along with several other sports.

ill admit it- i havent skied it - im not that brave. ive just inspected them on skis

i have skied it and mammothpunks is right the binding lifts off the ski and this was a pair setup by the line people so dont tell me it wasnt screwed on right.

The concept is right but it need a lot of fine tuning.

The binding makes the ski unresponsive.

Another thing is it has to be mounted center they should put some more holes in there like a snowboard so you can choose how you want to be mounted.

I think the plastic plate will break when you started landing hard it just doesnt feel like it can take the abuse the binding looks and feels fragile.

Wait at least 2 years.

By then they might have the kinks out.

just for the record, i dont care if i have 1 post on here, doesnt mean i dont know my shit guys. have 5 years of expirience with gear. not to mention on sticks since age 3

sarah burke is mine guys, just wanted you to know that!

Its good there is a post about how shitty this binding is, becsuse a month ago I made a post and all that was up was junk buy people that havent ridden it.

It took me two days to totally rip this binding apart both breaks riped off with first couple switch landings, and like its been said the heal strips out to easly.

Once again wait till the kinks are out, and try again.

what do you expect from the first year of production, of course there are going to be flaws.

I heard that they snap off easily. Also I heard that they are making new ones that will be much better and won't snap.

sorry but i think it's kind of stupid to post second hand comments because you don't totaly know what happened. I heard that they were pretty bomb proof, haven't skied them though.

they also look like shit

i rode them the other day here at mammoth and broke the brake off, if you're into a binding that has the name 'line' on it. oh then get this one.

Gonorrhea wipes off with gasoline! Just soak it a bit...

just out of interest Mr 'ski shop techie' who's probably 14 judging by his spelling and grammer who's had '5 years experience with gear' whatever the hell that means, How does a binding decompose?? I would find it very interesting to learn how a binding can break down into the ground from whence it came.

The concept is solid. There were manufacturing issues that will be/are resolved, and the binding will only get better. Hopefully other ski companies will licence Line's 4 hole pattern for seemless binding interchangeability between brands. In the meantime, Line's adapter plate will help out anyone who wants the binding but doesn't ski LINE skis.

Here's a clue... check out what the Line guys are riding. Not Line bindings. I love the skis, but the bindings promise too much and deliver very little. Nothing beats a turntable heel with 180 degree toe release (rossignol/look)

damnit.

i finally gave in to you guys

for the first few weekes...no, the first week i had it i liked it pretty much

then i bent the brake for the first time, then the second time, then the 3rd and 4th at the rail jam yesterday

i can't take brakes off because they are the same piece as the piece of metal that you step on to engage the binding

every time i bend the brake back i'm afraid i'm going to break the binding off my ski

oh yeah, and the toe pieces are both broken

whether i get sponsored by line or not, they'll be recieving a critique email from me.
