The Jibyard is OPEN!!

I agree. We need flaming rails like they have at keystone... That would be the sickest thing ever! Maybe if we vote for firey jibs enough they will ignore any saftey laws and make this happen.

haha I'm sure that would go over great with the massive wood beams and tires everywhere. haha I'll tell you what, 10,000 buy in minimum of 40 kids and I'll burn the place down around you guys haha

Bring that $CRILLA...STEENIEZ is going to be holding it down at the JIBYARD saturday and i've got hats, and facemasks, and headbands, and i pod air bags, and me, and maybe some crack if you really want it

I think I'll take the whale back out and put the flat bar back in for a bit. I agree with Sam we should have at least 1 rail in but kids wanted all boxes on the first comp for some reason. We'll keep it how it is for the next week and then switch it up again. we try to have something different every week so you guys don't get bored.

are you guys receptive to beginners? Ive been skiing powder and cliffs at alta and snowbird for years but i want to get into park skiing too. I've never slid a rail before but i would like to learn.

hey so I've always just been a big powder skier and have always been a wuss when it comes to park, but just got a pair of rossi squindos and wanna get some freestyle park goin for me

so are the foampits good for someone whos never done a flip on skis...ever? and ive never done rails just some boxes so they good for a beginner?

foam pits are not up yet, but there will be a big and a small jump so it will be good for u. and the flat box is perfect for begeners(spelling fail) alot of kids have learned to go straight and side ways on it. so hit it up its perfect for you!

dear god i just made the long journey here all the way from the wisconsin forums
I WANNA GO!
maybe i'll roadtrip out when the jump is open later this summer (20 hours??) hha

i did the trip from wilmot to salt lake city when i moved out here in 23 hours, but i stopped for 3 to nap in wyoming. i drove the whole way though, if you had a PIC you could alternate and cut down on the time.

one tip- try to set it up so that you hit nebraska and most of wyoming at night, so you dont have to see how boring it is.

The Jibyard has been so sick recently....

The set-up changes all the time, and is HIGHLY trickable. It's well worth the short trip to Ogden - and once you see it you'll never want to leave.

Just wait for the jump & step down tramp into foam...

I'll head back up Monday and take some pics of the variations we've been hitting.

tramp into a foam pit ?!?!, that sounds like like so much fun i hope that its ture, but where do they plan on placing this in that building?

We will definitely let you guys know as soon as the jump is up, we just switched the rails back up this weekend so come one down and check it out!

yeaahh!!

that is soo sick. i was stoekd to come back to utah in the fall, and now even more! goddamn!

How dangerous is it to ride there? I broke my arm in 3 spots and tore all the extensor tedons in my right hand. It happened back on Aprilo 1st. Should I wait on trying to ride at the Jibyard??

I know I should wait but it looks like sooo much fudgin fun.

It's barely dangerous at all on the side with less of a slope. I met a guy there like two weeks back that was skiing on a knee that recently had surgury. I guess it all depends on if you have ever done boxes before. There is a really easy flat one that you could chill on for saftey. Overall, it depends on the tricks you are trying, 270s on to the urban are the only thing i have hurt myself on cause of the wall that is next to it.

And hey, if it doesn't work out, its only 10 bucks an hour or 20 for a day, I think its worth the try!

how would my waiver be any different???

But naw, im not gonna ride yet, if i fell on my hand/arm in anyway, i could screw up the last 3 months of recovery.. It is tempting though and it looks sick, I'll probably hit it up in a few more months

I wish we could rename the title of this thread to "The Jibyard is fucking SICK!!!!!" I went today and it blew my mind. The set ups are super fun, not even that scary once you hit it a few times and get used to it. And there were some kids there doing some really solid Andy Parry stuff.

If you haven't been yet definitely go.

I don't know what Brad has planned for the jump anymore but I do know that the more kids go there and ride the sooner the jump will be up. also FYI the hours have changed they open at 11 am now not 9 am

I had knee reconstruction 4 months ago and was comfortable enough to ride it. I'm supposed to wait 6. It's pretty safe and mellow.

I think brad said a couple months from now. But definately for this winter it will be going. Can anyone confirm the first part?

there should be a welcome back to school rail jam becuase soo many college jibbers will finally be arriving to sesh this amazing place ..... i can't wait to hit rails and go to class everyday

Good idea! College night!

There will be a ton of incoming freshman from both the U and Weber who are looking to meet new people and slide some rails, etc. The Jibyard would be a perfect time to get people together and jibbing.
