"The Interview" Shitstorm

So, this movie "The Interview" is apparently about two guys sent on an undercover mission to kill Kim-Jong Un. The recent Sony hackers are pretty much confirmed to be North Korean now, and Un issued a statement that any public showing of this movie will be seen as an act of terrorism. Is it possible that they could just not show this movie after advertising it so much? Surprised there wasn't a thread about this yet.

your a bit late here, it was going to come out earlier in the year, but was delayed due to the threats. I'm betting it will come out and guess what. they will do nothing. because they can't even reach us.

That is a very funny may may and I will give you one upvote for your amazing contribution to this forum.

Theyre just mad that they wont be able to see the movie because the seats in front of them are too tall

If they do play it and N.Korea follows through China and S.Korea will get fucked up and im pretty sure we don't want that

"The last straw has been reached with North Korea. They stole a movie from a multi-billion dollar corporation and released it on the internet a few weeks before it was set to release. Arm the nukes. These fuckers are gunna pay." - Barack Obama

This would be a perfect time for someone to post the picture of Washington, D.C. With "never forget the North Korean nuclear attack of 2012" over it but I'm on mobile

So someone should

I kind of want to make a fake news article about Seth Rogen getting kidnapped by NK and throw it up on the ol 'Book and see if I can fool a ton of people.

our country is so fucking spineless and pussified for pulling this from theatres. NK is the worlds biggest shit talkers, and will never be a threat to the US, or other western superpowers.

wow, and it actually sounded like a really funny movie. absolutely bizarre concept with two funny dudes. this sucks because i feel like movie companies wont come out with any more raunchy shit if they're worried about nerds behind computer screens getting sand in their cooters.

Wait, are they still gonna release it on dvd or anything at some point? Or just abandoning it all together?

So true... And love how they're all butthurt, probably like illegal to film any other type of movie except "hail the government" propaganda that screens over there 24/7

i just read they pulled it from all theatres. didn't see anything about it going straight to DVD or to a streaming service, which is what they should do. id imagine they would make decent money that way, too. Tons of people want to see this movie, its one of the most anticipated movies in a long time. i totally get they make a killing in the theatres, but losing out on a few million so that your movie you worked hard on can still be shown makes all the sense in the world at this point.

I'd like to see this go straight to netflix or something. Even just releasing it as a leak or something would be funny. Sony could just be like "We have no idea what happened. It just sort of happened, oh well... Better just suck it up Mr.Kim"

NK is that one pissy kid on the playground with the medium sized rock who threatens every other kid with it. They are never going to use it they just like to swing it around and scare people.

Or they can just have a huge box office release because nk is a joke of a country with no capability whatsoever to bring harm on any appreciable scale to the United States. Even these "hackers" are probably 350 lb pencil dick North Korean neck beards who can't pull off an attack because it would require getting off the couch. It's a damn joke.

I mean the message is true. North Korea just stopped a major Hollywood movie just by threatening violence on one of the largest corporations in the business. If you want something to change, use the threat of violence. Apparently that's what our country is telling us.

we got censored by north korea... let's let that set in for a moment.

doesn't settle well at all. one of the largest western superpowers getting silenced by a regime that can barely get a rocket in the air.

Sony, hollywood, and most movie theaters just proved to the world what a bunch of gaping bitches they are.

Really? A war over a movie is ok with you? Yeah, lets make sure we kill thousands of civilians in another part of asia. Why not? We are fighting for FREEDOM!

I don't, but why even risk it? The leader of N korea is a fucking crazy person.

If this movie was about killing OUR president then we wouldn't even be in this conversation because it wouldn't have been made

ALL of you are idiots. This whole thing is a publicity stunt by Sony because the movie got terrible critics reviews. They just wanted to build up hype around the movie. Guaranteed Sony releases the movie within the next week. Online or somewhere else.

Like seriously you think NK hacked anywhere? Im pretty sure korea had their first connection to the internet yesterday

I don't let fat crybabies dictate what I do, and don't do.

There wouldn't be a movie about killing our current President, because as a country we still have respect for that office. No one outside of NK has any respect for the NK regime; except apparently the bitches at Sony. However if there was, the NSA would not threaten to blow up theaters. Same for if this shit was done in China, or NK. Our country has a greater level of maturity. The fat crybaby in North Manchuria lacks that.

At some point, you just have to say fuck it, and put a couple of cruise missiles into statues of the Kims. What are they gonna do? Shoot a rocket and have it blow up 30 feet off the platform?

Cross the 38th, wiping out the 2 ID brigade? That would open the door to the total destruction of NK. China would sit and watch.

very plausible and would make us all look dumb - you're right about that

as a matter of fact there have been multiple movies produced by NK depicting them nuking Washington dc, we just don't act like pussies about it because we know their military capabilities, they don't know ours

Really? You're gonna call people idiots and then say something as dumb as that? North Korea has teams of programmers/"hackers" that are trained abroad. I'm not saying they hacked Sony, but claiming they didn't because they don't have the means is just plain stupid.

From this story on NPR:

"'North Korea is indeed capable of quite crippling hacks. It has a very effective, efficient, capable hacking machinery," Moon says. While the general citizenry there may not have wide Internet access, she says, the latest counts show about two million North Korean elites and those who live along the Chinese border are connected to a 3G network. And the state supports training in cyber-espionage.

"Those who succeed in North Korea then are sent to China and Russia to get extra training," Moon says.'"

even if they have the means why the fuck would they choose an american comedy that nobody has really seen yet. There is so much real news hating on korea why would this be the video they outcry against and decide to put a full force of hackers on the team to hide americans from a movie? im sorry but for me it screams bullshit

Do you not remember White House Down and Olympus Has Fallen? They were released last summer, and we didn't lose our shit. We actually respect people's rights to expression and said, "Hey whatever, its a movie." NK loses their collective little mind at the drop of the hat. Time for China to cut its losses and hang them out to dry.

This movie's publisher is Sony Pictures. Sony is Japanese. The CEO of Sony and owner of Sony Pictures lives in Tokyo, with North Korea close by testing rocket launchers.

Something funny though is that South Korean activists plan on sending DVDs of the movie over the border via balloon.

Such an easy conspiracy theory, but the problem is Sony would not 1) go through as much down time as they did over the past month and 2) willingly release as much data about their company simply to make a shitty movie earn some more dough.

Sure, it's on pretty much every news site in most parts of the world, and that's fantastic for publicity, but the ends don't justify the means.

Is it really such a threat on american pride that a country took offence to a movie about killing the fucking leader, who is still alive, and still very much volatile?

You guys need to take the eagle out of your ass and realize that someone crossed a line on this one. What did everyone think would happen? They are constantly threatening violence and launching minor attacks. A comedy about the murder of their already insane leader is just a stupid amount of fuel on the fire.

Plus look at the position of these movie theatres, you're calling them pussies for pulling the movie. Can you imagine what you'd be calling them if they played them and attacks happened? If people died?

No, this isn't a pride issue, this is a basic right of everyone, Korean or not, to be able to put whatever the hell they want out onto the internet. Sony crossed no line, they produced this movie in the 21st century, a place that North Korea sadly doesn't reside. They threaten violence, but does anything ever actually happen? Who gives a fuck about what their insane leader thinks? He oppresses 25 million people. He is scum. He is human garbage, and he can't do anything about what the West wants.

It's not about what America wants. North Korea might seem like a joke to you as they are so far away and their missiles can't reach the States. But they are right on Sony's doorstep.
