the only jibbing shots in the movie are the ones seen in the trailer, and they dont show mark abma's whole cab 3 off the cliff... yea its a horrible movie unless you want to see every rider in the movie hit the same BC line 20 times... and i am not kidding, over 3/4 the movie is filmed in western BC with the worst lines being skied over and over again...

Ingrid has nowhere near as decent of a segment as she had last year. And she bitches about heli-skiing. Boo hoo. The intro is worth watching the movie for, but that's all MSP are getting to be worth it for. They should just start hiring themselves out to other companies to make intros.

As for the "benchmark" I would have to differ. Tell me PBP hasn't been the benchmark for the overall sickest movies put out year after year. Dear tell me. X=10 beats Yearbook, so does Wski. Both murderd Yearbook.

it's probably ok, big mountain skiing is good as well as park. A mixture of the both is good i think.

 
they were the benchmark for ski movie 3.

msp is nothing special, all a company does is choose the athletes and music.

they all have sick trips

they all have sick shots, some a little sicker (heli-cam for msp)

they all have decent editing, if they didn't there would be no company

those three things don't make a ski movie good, they make a good ski movie GREAT

its all about the athletes, without talent you have no movie, SM3 was the pinnacle of msp, theyre going to turn into warren miller soon. some of the best athletes from SM3 are gone, either because of other oppurtunies (tanner, CR) or because msp stabbed them in the back (seth)

this is why i like msp the least of the production companies RIGHT NOW, you can't deny what they've done, but right now other people aredoing sicker shit (tgr kills msp in big mountain anyways (sage))

no ones as good as me, they just got better marketing schemes
 
Meh I thought it was alright, Wilson and McConkey are fucking nuts, Pollard had a nice seg, and the big-mountain race thing with Daron Rhalves and Abma was cool. The whole "so, you got any sick trips lined up" thing was stupid though.

i thought it was pretty damn mediocre.

ski movie 3 was the best of MSP, and focused was really good too, but damn, yearbook was far better than hit list, and yearbook was pretty bad.

there are only a couple of decent big mountain lines, and some intense shots.

WAY TOO MUCH INGRID - she is a great female skier, but it isnt good watching material (perhaps compared to hugo and the like). her segmet was better in yearbook, also, way too much commentary. especially from her. Commentary is fine, such as in sm3, but this is like warren miller.

msp has some of the highest quality shots no doubt, but the movie is a drag, and there were like, two rails in the entire movie.

there were a couple of good segments, such as bushfield, pollard, pep, andy, and benchetler. and dont expect to see pollard in an msp movie next year.

war was far better

The thing that I hated most about the movie was how much talking they had. Every segment has the skier talking about how rad their line was etc. Some segments had more talking than music.

That and how slow the movie goes... it should have been half as long as at was. Between athlete commentary and slow-mo shots of their boat, it seemed like they were tring to make it unecessarily long.

That.. and without Seth they have nothing to make you say wow. (Unless you get pumped off parachuting)

War is a much much much better movie (hell, Seth and JP had big mountain segments that were better than Hit List's)

No, just a couple of skarachuting shots. I've decided that this years MSP was just an athlete trailer for all the other movies -- Pep has WAAAAY better segment in WAR, Andy Mahre has a far better segment in WAR as well as TGR's flick, etc. As for Big Mountain, TGR is shooting with Sage and Dana Flahr. Really doesn't get much radder than that. The jibbing was barely touched upon, and not really anything that mind-blowing. Sure, a shot or two, but not even a whole segment's worth.

As somebody said, a lot of it is the athletes, and MSP no longer has the caliber of athletes that other companies can claim.

MSP = Warren Miller now. More than a few times, I couldn't tell the difference.

 
i could see how the movie would be appealing to the older crowd, but when i left the movie i had a discussion with my friends about how i would have had more fun lighting my ten dollar bill on fire and watching it burn. there was maaaybe 2 segments that i was actually impressed with. people are always talking about how you need a balance between park and big mountain. well there was no balance here. it was all big mountain/put me to sleep.

bottom line HIT LIST=SHIT LIST

pop yer bottlez was sick, and i am so pumped to go see war and shanghai six this week.

 
I just saw the hit list, and i was impressed. Some super sick lines, HUGE jumps with super sick angles, great riders. If you say this movie sucks you obviously are just a biased dumbass who thinks hes cool by saying "MSP SUCKS!!" all of you fuckers who say this are stupid ignoriant dumbasses. Anyway, sick movie, way better than yearbook, go see it!

MSP is getting stale...same camera angles, same formats, added corporate favoritism...

Ingrids part stole the show and abma backed up his seggy from last year. Eric Hjorleifson slays the opening segment.

My call, TGR was WAY better. Check Dana Flahrs segment and you will know that he is going to destroy everyone in the near future.

Last time I checked there were big BC zeros, switch 3s, cork 9's switch 7s, and better angles than any movie I have ever seen. Booter crunk doesn't even compare. And frankly I'd say it one of the best videos made. And look as Pussyfooter up there, hes a park riddin jibber and he liked it. Rory's section was sick, Pollards was so sick. Hjorflson or whatever had a pretty sick section too and he was at our premeir. The shots were epic and amazing tho. Pep threw a huhge rodeo 7 off a rail. Thats progression. It was sick.

I haven't seen it yet, but as long as it doesn't have a half hour of skirachuting I'll be down. And yeah msp has such sick camera work, that's half the reason to watch the movie.

i must say, some of the fotage was very nice, but overall there were only a couple of decent segments in the entire movie, such as pep in russia, mahre, bushfield and pollard, but most of the rest was very dry and dull, quite boring actually. the big mountain riding has been better in years past, and even the lines and shots in war were put together better and were more interesting to watch.

the movie practically sucked compared to the effect and impact, and overall sickness, that focused and ski movie 3 had, in terms of MSP. some good shots doesnt pick up the slack for a poor movie
