not really. It retailed for $119.00, and the g10 mx is $129. This is unused, and I spent $15 to get paint, a brush and sandpaper, and then 2 hours doing it. No worries. If someone doesn't buy it I will wear it next season
 
congratulations you ripped someone off on eBay. What bearing does that have on my auction aside from you being a jerk?
 
I sanded, then applied a layer of flat white latex, then another layer, then sanded lightly. I also sanded down the inside edge of the visor so it wouldn't rub again the helmet and scrap the paint off
 
good for you. What color is yours? oh yeah, it's black. How many all white ones are there? Oh yeah, none. please go away.
 
Awesome. You voided the warranty on that helmet, and quite possibly ruined the shell with all the sanding and painting. And now you're trying to unload a potentially unsafe helmet on some poor, unsuspecting kid.

"Can I paint my helmet?

Giro does not recommend paints or solvents of any kind be used on the helmets. They can damage a helmet so that its protective capabilities are significantly reduced."

buaaahahah. are you kidding? You have a serious problem man. Before I thought there was some merit to you correcting people. But now I know you just annoy people for fun.

You could possibly believe that using light 220 grade sand paper to make paint adhere to the surface better could even come close to compromising the integrity of the shell. Giro says not to use paint so they can sell more helmets, buddy. The "poor, unsuspecting kid" part made me laugh out loud. Actually, the helmet has a bomb in one of the earpads! The unsuspecting kid has no idea what is about it hit him! hahaha.

Oh yeah, and lastly: how many Giro Nines have been sent back for warrenty? haha, you are pretty absurd.
 
haha crap I am still smiling about that one. Yes, did you know that paint actually melts plastic? All that plastic siding is about to come off everyone's house! quick, get some paint thinner and get that stuff off of there! haha :)
 
just because you bought it and painted it doesnt mean its worth more.

i got mine for $45 brand new and not off ebay. aussieskier3 can vouch for me because he got a flint sc for $50 off the same site.

i could go get some white paint and sand paper from my cellar and make the same helmet for half the price.
 
okay so get me one for $45 now. Doesn't change the fact that there aren't others out there and most people wouldn't take the time or do it correctly. Again, who is forcing you to buy the helmet?

I must admit I don't understand people always trying to ruin others' threads by saying they got a good deal. I have gotten TONS of good deals but I don't feel the need for someone to ePat me on the back for it like some of 9 year olds on here (pierre).
 
Not trying to screw you sale becuase I hated it when someone did it to me. You've just been treating everybody else who tries to make a comment like shit and you try to act like because you pained your helmet it worth a lot more. Totally agree that people dont have to say they got a good deal, but your price is high IMO even factoring in supplies and the work you put into it. I think its sick. I'd keep it if I was you. Sorry for"fucking" your thread and "treating you like a 9 year oid"
