The High - My Album (I need your feedback)

maybe a more descriptive response would be more appropriate... i had no clue this kind of music was all over the radio. obviously he just didnt listen... he just doesnt like hiphop.
 
Ok...constructive criticism. I'm working on a lot of this stuff myself...so I know what I'm talking about (I hope).

Everything in vocals is pretty good. You have a great rapping voice. Lyrics could use some work, maybe a bit more meaning...I prefer lyrics like the ones the Blue Scholars write, or what Nas writes. Some of yours are really good though, in terms of rhyme scheme and whatnot.

Beats: you have amazing beats. However, if you want to widen your audience, you need to change up the style a little bit. It's good chill hip-hop, but a whole album of the same style gets boring. Maybe a couple upbeat songs would be good, along with a really deep philosophical softer song, to even it out. It's not all about being a G. I didn't listen to every song though, so you might already have done this. It just seemed you were more of a semi-soft beat, chill hip-hop.
 
i feel you... ive been doin that with the new songs... but i feel u. it needs something to spice it up.
 
damn well it feels good to be recognized for it... im tired of hearing the commercial crap... but it seems like its the only thing record labels want you to produce. i think its a matter of time before the artistic element comes forth...
 
Artists like blue scholars and DL are blowing up, a lot more than before. Hopefully people like you (and hopefully me, too) can appeal to more people once it becomes more hip to write intelligently.
 
i really dig what i heard. props man. and your production is quality. i especially liked "supernatural".
 
yea youd be surprised what kind of quality of sound you can achieve with a meager investment... you just gotta get good at working the equipment you have.
 
definitely really chill. sounds kinda like rjd2/blueprint in a way. not saying i'd buy it (only because i'm broke), but i'll definitely check back from time to time on this soundclick or whatever it is.
 
Wow i was expecting something similar to the mixes made from garageband but then i listened to more songs and they all have some really sick beats!
 
exactly what i just did..i saw the thread and i thought that i would listen to it again...and once again, very sickk 
 
I appreciate it guys... love the feedback. I got two new rough draft songs up there... bump and love drug. tell me if ya dig it... quality is shitty still since i havent mixed it and havent really done all of the recording but its just an idea.
