ok first up, DO NOT JUMP TURN before you get to ur peak, ur gonna kill ur boost and look silly.
what you wanna do is stay neutral over ur skis, pump up the walls (pressure and bend the knees just like trying to get speed up on rollers) and remember to keep ur hands in front (watch dumont or any other pipe rider shoot their hands forward after every landing)
like i said, neutral over ur skis and when you get to ur peak, be patient and let it happen, don try to jump up and 180 around. you want to wait as long as you can to turn. (almost think shifty) and also don jump up into a turn, ride staight up the wall and let urself leave the wall, reach ur peak when you kindo of stop and hang in the air and then turn.
keeping a neutral stance is important but even more important is keeping ur pop neutral. you have to judge the walls. a warm up run is good for this. DO NOT POP OFF THE WALL like you would for hitting a jump, you will land in the belly and it hurts. dont suck up the wall either cuz ur gonna deck. Ideally, the wall of a pipe will be perfectly verticle (straight up and down). this usually doesnt happen though. this is where doing a small run helps. if a wall is undervert (less than straight up and down) it will shot you up and on to the deck. for a wall like this a light pop off the wall is ur best friend. for an over vert wall (a wall that curls back on you a bit) a bit of absorption is the perfect remedy as a neutral ride will send you into the belly (flat section in the middle). good luck hope i was of some help.
remember BE PATIENT, HANDS IN FRONT (biggest words of wisdom any coach will give you)
