The growth of skiing

Hey i was just thinking about how much skiing has blown up in recent years, i for one never snowboarded skid since like age 4 but now tons of snowboarders are skiing. Theres a huge and legit push for skiing halfpipe and everbody knows who tanner hall is. I'm just wondering if its what we really want, i mean used to ski to be different from all my friends becoming snowboarding but now i think that after skiing blows up to full potential the same thing may happen. Im gonna skiing for life but hey its just a thought

maybe if you would have given people longer than like 6 minutes to reply, you wouldnt have had to make a second thread

Keep progressing in skiing before everyone else does. I do like being different and not having too many people in the sport, but if it happens it happens. But if you create a unique style and innovate we can ski and still be different. Go and watch a video of Eric Pollard. His style is amazing and yet no one skis like him because he's the only one doing it, give it a few years and everyone will be doing it. People only ski like what they see. So T-Hall and Simon Dumont are in the x-games televised and then all of a sudden everyone wants to do that because it looks cool and it was on T.V. That's all they've seen though and don't know that there's "different." Or they like being in the crowd or being the same, or quite possibly they once snowboarded and they're so used to it always being that way, they've gotten used to it.

Its been a year now, apparently too much to read.

So its my birthday today and I decided to bump a thread from my birthday last year, on second note tomorrow is my 1st anniversary at NS so this thread was made before I was even around.

i watched ski movie: high society yesterday.

and laughed and laughed and laughed. its CRAZY how different the sport is.

underflips and mute grab's FTW !!

yea it bugs me how so many people are doing it now. and everyones getting so good.. probly better than me now so it looks like i just startedish..

Happy birthday to all the birthday people. I lol'd a little that you would bump a thread from your birthday last year, kind of a novel idea. And I don't care how big skiing gets, I'm going to keep at it because it's fun.

I think the greatest thing is that only like 1 percent of terrain is lift accessible. If your home mountain gets ruined by massive crowds, buy two sleds on the cheap and get at exploring.
