All my stuff is wet, the xbox, it's power brick, my mac a little (i'm on my brothers), a bucnh of wires, some otehr stuff. advice on drying? i'm not turning anythnig on till i hari dry it i guess, newspaper and rice? ughhhhh help!

But no seriously, go buy one of those 15lb bags of rice from a grocery store for like $8 and put your electronics in there overnight.

preheat it to 375 and leave it in for 10-12 minutes.

we have heat in the dorms, she turned hers off and opened her window, pipes froze, she turned it on, pipes explode, water floods everywhere. My external is wet too.

everything was unplugged within like a minute of the water coming out of the ceiling.

just wait until all the water evaporates before you turn your electronics on and if they end up not working, sue her. easy.
 
The rice trick works my phone has been in a lake twice and a toilet once and it works still just remove the battery as soon as it happens and let it sit in rice for a few days and it'll be good.
 
bag of rice is your best bet, also if any of the electronics can be screwed open, i personally would open them up to let air circulate inside (unless ofcourse you have an insurance/warranty for any of your stuff, then you're better off looking into something like that ....)

I was at said incident. Some kid said we need a giant shamwow and needed to just roll it down the hallway. Everybody loled. All I see is a carpet waiting to be cut into dryslope for summer setups.
 
Ive never fucking realized how fucking stupid freshman are until now. Why was the window open to the point that the pipes could freeze ha? Have you said shit to her yet? Id bitch her our regardless of anything being ruined or not because now you have to wait a few days to use any of your stuff.
 
it hasn't been above 30 all week and I guess she was hot. Don't know who it was don't have pics. Everyone is already mad at her so I'll spare her. I don't get it either though, chrome don't know how stuff works; pipes freeze if they are cold then burst if you try and use them. Herpity fucking derp. All I have is my iPod now to use.

the ceiling of our apartment had a massive leak from the washroom above it, at one point it was like a faucet was turned on in the ceiling the water flow was so strong. our landlord fixed it and luckily none of our electronics were nearby
 
don't turn anything on for a day or two to see if its working. that's what short wires everything if there's still water in it.

NOW your Macbook has had water just doused on the mfugga.....the thing has LSI's that have most definitely probably tripped, and even if you have a valid warranty claim for hardware that is legitimately malfunctioning - apple can and will decline your repair for a tripped liquid contact indicator.

do this for sure. and if you have electronics that are completely soaked and your having a hard time getting the water out, try spraying some alcohol on it, like rubbing alcohol or acetone not the kind you drink.
 
I don't even know why the electronic items matter anymore.
All electronic items should be replaced by her insurance, and all the remains of the old ones should be sold for profit...........

 
well, i think everything works actually. i'm on my mac now and nothing else was terribly wet. I'm only concerned for my xbox and its cables and my external hard drive. I did have to pull my rug out though, and my curtains are wet. not really that much damage to my room i don't think. the 2nd floor is fucked though; water all over the place, all the carpets are wet...
