The future

the way i look at i know that i will be alive maybe 75 more years. i doubt even that. And within this era the world will still be an ok living situation. WIthin this time i do as much as i can to help like not polute etc..

my girlfriend is basically an environmentalist, and yes thats very true and we should all pitch in - the small things count

well if everyone does a lil something, itll add up. if everyone has the idea that small things wont make a difference, then nothing will change. but the governemnts of all nations need to initiate large scale action as well

get all the facts before u make a decision.... 10 years ago it was global cooling everyone was worried about... remember that

i was 8 ten years ago and i was stoked on Captain Planet and im sure that he was pissed about global warming not cooling so

FUCK YOU

CAPTAIN PLANET IS GONNA TAKE YOU DOWN

im not against this, but global warming has been around forever, and its going to happen again. its not like it just started when the humans came, its a cycle and it will always happen

screw that, peak oil is what is gonna kill us off. that or bird flu, whichever.

to ecah generation, to each his own doomsday. to some, nuclear holocaust, to others, HIV/AIDS, to others, global cooling, to us, global warming and/or peak oil.

so why worry?

Peak oil won't kill us. It will just put us in an extremly uncomfortable position and a exxagerated short period of change.

from the impression i get from the apocalyptic speakers on here, either death will come from your neighbor, or it will come when your meds are no longer able to be produced because EVERYTHING depends on oil...

but yeah, i agree with you. it'll be major, but not the end of the world.

I don't think this is an Apocolypse man. This is just where we make the point of either saving our planet from possibly never seeing snow again, and saving 100 million refugees over time, rather than "Oh my god, global warming is gonna kill us all." It's just a choice we make, either disregard it and run from the problem (like so many of us are great at) or face the problem and come up with a solution.

And whoever said 10 years ago it was global cooling is a fucking retard with no brain. 15 years ago they started the studies for the Kyoto agreement to undoubtebly prove global warming to the UN. They did. Every leader of every country on the council signed it except for Bush, which in turn nulled it. Why didn't Bush sign it? Because making more money is more important than solving long-term environmental problems caused by us.

Humans have made this planet so inhabitable....i dont think a few degress is gonna fuck with us, ha ha, we'll find some way to reverse it im sure

other than that WE'RE ALL GONNA FUCKIN DIE

^^ 30 years ago, in the 70s, everyone thought we were heading towards an ice age with no doubt in mind, i think thats what is meant.

that is scary, but when you think about it, we are the most intelligent creatures ever to live anyhwere, we're just stubborn. when millionaires' expensive beach homes start to be underwater and they start complaining, we will scramble for a solution. but, if it isnt hurting anyone today, why fix it? (thats not my philosophy, thats how our govnt thinks)

Ok first of all there is very little we can do to stop global warming. Even if it is from humans, what we are experencing now is gases that were released in the 60's. They talk about the hotest years in recorded history but what we dont understand is that this is an extreamly short time. Haha that graph was funny the temperature fluxuation is 1/10 of a degree per year! If you look at rock and fossil structure the eart is constantly going through hot and cold spells. Just before modern history was a fucking ice age. In the mesozoic and jurassic peroids the earth had about 1/5 the solid ice it does now and the majority of the earth was dense jungle. To sum it up it is probably better to cut back on harmfull emmision but we will not see immediate impact in our lifetimes even. The problem is that humans are arrogant we cant understand that this is not our planet and if history repeats its self we will not be around for long.

If the history of the earth was a day. The creation of the earth 24 hours ago. Life started about 3 hours ago. The dinosaurs were here about and hour ago and humans have been around for less than a second making your life about the time it takes for the sound of a penny hitting the ground to start and end.
