The future of the boston ski/snow expo?

Does anyone know what's going on with it?

I know it used to be run by ski market who have since and unfortunately gone out of business, but has anyone else picked up the main sponsorship? I'd assume that no big selling sponsor would mean no show this year, right?

Used to always be my definitive sign that winter was on its way. Loved going there and not even buying anything, just getting stickers, shirts, random shit, and checking out all the new equipment.

Fuck ski market i hate shops like them, there was one near me and now another shop almost exactly the same moved in.. i went in to look at the new skis, no intent of buying them, and nobody ever said anything too me or approached me to ask if i needed any help/what i was looking for, and whats best for me etc. Ski market had terrible service and the only thing i regret about them going out of business is that i had a few giftcards from contests that i could of gotten cash from....

for what its worth, i think the expo is a waste of time for getting gear. You pay 12 bucks to get in, pay for a ticket, most likely take it to a different shop to get it mounted where you are paying installation. Ski Market had a BUNCH of shops and they shut them all down on expo weekend and brought all the product in, and the deals weren't "great". East Coast Alpine last season had 2 shops, both in the same area. I cant imagine they have a lot of product to offer at the expo.

On the other hand, GREAT time for season passes/ free swag/ new product stoke/vacation packages.

I do run a ski shop in the MA/NH area, so take my opinion for what it is. I have just always found it to be less expensive to get a ski at a brick and mortar shop anywhere, then to get a "deal" on a ski and add in the parking/admission/mounting cost.

oh definitely, i never actually bought anything except maybe a helmet at the expo. I always just went to get bags of stickers, maps, and free shirts/hats/anything.
