The future of skiing/skiers on the come up

Jackson Karsteter is underrated?... Tons of great skiers same age and same level, in terms of comp skiing it's anyones game imo as the direction skiing will take is unknown. In terms of the film aspect I really like Forre and some of those groups, also don't hate me but the bunch isn't terrible and actually adds some creativity to skiing. I've met some really cool kids through rev and other comps and they each have their unique aspect of skiing and hopefullly will create a more style based future.

also hackel is insane and younger so I'm excited for that avenue.

I always feel like weve hit the wall with how young someone can dub, but after that 9 year old i'm convinced they practice in the womb

When I was 9 Id 3 a 25’ jump and older guys were hyped, now I see 9 year olds dubbing and it’s just casual to me now. However I have a hunch a lot of these 12 and younger kids dubbing can’t really do much but cork, just go to cork academy and learn what wins FIS comps. No disrespect to em though, walker shredz is a savage.

Hackel is 23 or 24 and I think Mango is 21. For sure they are still going to progress but in my book they passed the “come up” stage a while ago and cemented it with the Real Ski

Im looking forward to see what Henry Sildaru will become. Haven’t seen much new content but a 12 year old chasing Candide in This Is Home was wild. He has style, tech, and big mountain capabilities. He could be like a hybrid THall, Sammy C, Hatveit, Candide and win X Games and FWT. Between him and Kelly that will be the “Future Family of Freeskiing”. If Kelly learns how to Dub she should win both the Pipe and Slope in Olympics with her tech.

I’m not quite sure on this one Henry is more of a an all mountain kid by his age there’s been kids doing trips I could be wrong since I’m not fully sure how old he is but I don’t see him progressing the sport from a park standpoint...def gives off Candide vibes

i know so many kids who can huck corks with their eyes closed but can hardly slide a rail

Yeah I see plenty of that at PC, they train all summer doing jump maneuvers but forget that rails are important too and get way behind on those skills. What I forgot to add in what I previously said was kids can only cork now, like I’ve met kids who can’t do a clean upright spin past a 540 cause they have to cork 9 blunt instead.

oh wow that is another level lol

Maybe they learned young and they just don’t anymore but over the years I’ve seen a good amount of youngsters always just hucking corks and never bust a slow Cuban 5 or something, at least never upright at least.

I think part of this is a loss of just skiing for the fun of it. Sure, if they like to ski like they do and just win comps they can but I think the people who will end up standing out will be those like hackel and mango who find a unique style and are good all around.

Honestly tho as someone who doesn't do competitions I think thats fine. Its definitely like one of the most fun tricks so do what makes you feel good

Mango will push the bar undoubtedly on the comp side of things I think Moffat is quickly gaining traction

Karsteter has 18k followers on insta I don't think he's underrated at all..personally I don't think his style or trick selection is anything special atm but he's super young. Def gonna be doing crazy shit when he's like 24

Not a huge fan of karstarter because he skis rails like a new Shredsauce player (4on, 3swap, 8out) but if he started doing more creative stuff he’d be amazing

Walker is one of the young people who has real style, and not just for his age. Probably a by-product of skiing with the world's best as Park City, and he just sponges it right up, which is amazing.
