see, the problem with this "progression" on rails is that everyone wants to find "the next hot thing". a few seasons ago it was 270 ons. then things like lipslides, than nosepresses, etc etc. while yes, the technical difficulty of the tricks being done has improved, the actual progression seems about the same. there is such a lack of individuality these days, with only a select few who are really able to stick out. everyone else just clings onto a style that is "in" and follows suite. its a very destructive trend. the same thing happens with grabs. look back to 2002, lui kang anyone? this season it was truckdrivers.
the bottom line, is this. there is ALOT, ALOT, ALOT that can be done on rails, and SOOO much that we have yet to see. very few have even come close to tapping the potential. Charles Gagnier is one of the few, who despite the closed minds of his peers and lots of critism, is actually pushing things. im not going to say what progression is or where it should go, but people need to really think about thier body, thier skis, and what they can do on a rail, or a jump for that matter. that is progression.
