I read about this in a newspaper thing that a local college puts out (the founder goes there). They are testing it and are probably going to build the first ones here in Utah right by where i live. Check it out at this website:

Oh yeah and sign their petition (stoked signers thing) because once they get 5,000 (they have about 1500 already) then they get more sponsors and the prices go down.

Its a park-only ski resort where they use sponsors and stuff to make it really cheap (they said if they got enough support they could get the price down to $10 or less)

They have a place like that already in Quebec, Altitude. There is no lift there, but its pretty good though.

thats not a good idea at all. a just park resort would suck major shit for the general population. only a few like to just hang thier worthless ass in a park all day. if u tihnk thgat an all park resort is cool, than u must blow at all of the other REAL aspects of skiing, like turning

I think that you're thinking of Bear Mountain, not June. Bear is, like, 90% park, and is badass. And in that case, park is the only thing that can be good at a place with less than 100 inches a year. Believe me, just skiing an all-fake snow moutian isn't that fun. But that just might gbe because I ski in WY and CO, so I'll shut up...

'Bear Mountain' is now 'the park @ bear mountain' and it is acctually really nice- the whole mountain is a big park but there is also alot of other aspects to it, some of the runs will have like a tree ride and a jump or two and maybe some molguls and the rest is just kick ass riding, other runs are nothing but jump, jib, jump, jump, jib...so an all mountain park is acctually a really sick idea and it really does work if done right.

This type of terrain includes rails, picnic tables, boxes, and other terrain you've never seen before. Some of it is SO unique, it's classified until we can build it.

i think it is a good idea.....when you feel like riding a park you can goto this place for alot less than a regular resort, then you can go pay your $60 to ride a real mountain when your tired of park riding...no one ever said you can only ski one place...but having somewhere dedicated to a perfect park and progressing the sport can never be a bad thing

I would seem to think this would spawn a lot of skiers who are good at park and nothing else. Par of being a expert skier is being well-rounded. Besides that though it seems like a pretty sick idea.

Sounds liek they have alot of aspirations. We'll see if they get anything off the ground. Notice how they said alot of stuff, but didnt say anything specific. Like where they are going to do this... and wha the fuck is an anti-lift? It seems like a politician promising alot, when he really can't do what he's promised.

I don't know if this thread is dead or not, but I could probably give the dirt on everide for those of you who are still interested... I wrote the article in the college newspaper.

I know the guys that are making it, they are very dedicated to the parks and humanitarian stuff... all they do is ride, rock climb, and work on everide. They have some connections in high places, so it has a good chance of happening if they get enough support.

Utah has been in a drought for the last decade almost, so the pow has been pretty scarce and the few resorts who DO build snowparks don't take care of them, or they charge over $50 per day (except for Brighton, who rocks).

About the secret stuff... they won't post the ideas because other people could rip them off. They're waiting on patents. Most of the 'top secrets' I've seen aren't really spectacular, but they should raise the bar in the park scene.

No kidding though, they have a notebook full of crazy jibs. Some are lame, but some look fun. They really do have a thing that doesn't let noobs fall. and even though their anti lift may be hyped up to be more than it should be, its still probably better than a regular lift especially at a park where it could get crowded.

THey really are bent on making it as cheap as possible, and they really will give the extra money to charities and stuff. They dont care, all they want to do is ride anyway.

thanks for the info thelocalshredder. ^^^it doesn't mean we have to ski just park, it just means when we want to ski park we can do that for cheap, and spend all of our time at a ski resort(that we payed a lot for) to ski big mountain.

sounds cool, but if i were to make the trip out to utah, i sure as hell wouldnt spend much time in the park. i can do that enough in michigan.

its nice that some people have dreams but this whole thing seems economically unrealisitc....just too expensive to run and operate with the donations and cheap overhead that expect to have. I'd bet that it will never happen

 
I'm glad you are all stoked for everide, but its not as complicated as your'e trying to make it. my name is Colby Young and I'm a rep for everide. we're not in this for money. we're tired of paying big money to ride parks. we're doing this for everyone else. all the money we gain from sponsors and what not goes to bettering the park, not our wallets. its gonna be sick and is definately going to happen. but right now all we need is people to sign the stoked list so that sponsors can see the interest.

where am I?
