The Full Tilt Conspiracy Theory

As the years go on the gear that we buy is starting to look worse and worse. With Full Tilt you can observe that they are slowly making the less expensive boots look worse so less people buy them and the boots that cost more such as the tammy wamstick pro model and seth morrisons look better therefore people have to spend more money on their boots.

Thoughts?

Only retards buy boots based on looks.

True however it is still part of the consideration whenever you buy anything because nobody wants to buy something that looks like shit

Are you fucking kidding me? This year's dropkick are insane! Classic, yet stylish look. I have the 2013 booter and they weren't the steeziest of their line but i still picked 'em because guess what, i'm 16 and i paid my whole kit myself. Like every other company, FT makes cheaper products for people (like me) who don't have a big budget. However, they don't make the material a whole lot cheaper. I skied every wednesday and weekends plus christmas break plus spring break and they are almost like new. they only have cosmetic damage. but as said above, people don't buy ski boots regarding the look.

Companies aren't going to spend a shit load of money to make stuff that purposely looks bad so that people won't buy it. That makes no sense at all. This thread is balls

A golden rule of product development is that the top model (which is at the same time the most expensive) should look the best. That is the "vector model" and it's the image piece that should drive the brand. This is how the car, bike, boat, shoe, ski boot industry etc all operate.

However, this does not mean that a company should make the lower end products look shitty on purpose (after all they need to sell those too). It just means that the top should look the best. This is tricky thing to achieve because trying to purposefully make a lower end product look less attractive while not causing it to look bad is not an easy thing to do. Ultimately, whether or not a company actually achieves this is rather subjective but I can guarantee you that no brand is purposefully trying to make their low end product look bad.

The only full tilt s that really turned me off were last year's T Walls. The graffiti ones. Yuckaroo! Cant say I loved his "Timberlands" model either. I think this year's are on point though.
