there were no post counts in your account because then no one would care about posting....what do you think?

agree. i mean, most people post meaningful stuff, but then there's also a large majority of absolutely nothing that people just post to whore up their post count a bit.

so what? If people want to post stupid junk just to get their post counts up so be it, most people on NS can pick out the junk from the good stuff.

actually im pretty sure that guy just wants to post a lot to try to annoy other members. he'll be gone after a while and he probably has a different account that he makes most of his posts on

^ i know what you are saying...but when kids post ueseless input its annoying when you are trying to find information on a topic and there are useless posts from kids who ski twice a year

Really, I don't log on and go like OMG I WANT +1 POST COUNT I go like.. oh shit how did you do that, or I just want to shoot the shit.

Post count should stay

I was kind of concerned in the beginning, but after you pass 1000 posts, and you get to know people, and your name gets out there, it doesn't matter how many posts you have. I think we could do away with it, because people with many posts are already established as "veterans," and maybe newbies would go for quality over quantity.

i use post count as a credibility meter. The higher the post count the more credible*. It also depends on reputation, recognizablity, age, and time spent on the site.

post count actualy help for buying and selling things on ns. you can kinda tell if they are legit if they have quite the # of posts

i think random, non meaningful posts would decrease...but would newschoolers be as funny and entertaining then?

i actaully just noticed the post count thing when tons of people were talking about it and changing hte newb under their name or what ever
