'explain to me, if u will, how it can be cool to do a backflip with a grab, and super cool to do a 2bl with halp twist but boring to launch 13meters stright up and do a multiple-twisting,triple backflip?' 1st of all its a 180 not a halp twist and 2nd i will explain it to u. All arial skiers look the same. u can tell a diffrence in ther air, evan the tricks look the same how can u call that cool. newschoolers have a unic style, we make stuff look are own way we have are own style its unic, and who said a 2bl back 180 is better then a back with a grab? They also make a point, skiing into a jump and doing multiple moves is harder then putting a grab in a trick, but once again it coems to style, i want to see sumthing diffrent, i dont care how hard the trick is. They make a point of letting jhony mosley do the diner role in the olypics, but evan if they allow inverts in mogal contest evrything inbetween the jumps looks the same, thats why its boring, it might be cool to watch the 1st 2 or 3 people go down the run, but then evrything looks the same, but if u wach a slope style evrything is diffrent the rails the jumps evan how he skies into the jumps. and to there other qustion in the article 'does it mean anything that the fis earned its triple-suppository rating on the constiparation scale by being accontable to the demands of safty and fair score?' no it dosnt! mogol skiers and arialst deserv respect for what there doing in the are and on the ski hill, but that doesnt meen we should all go rushing to watch it and say how kool it is

 
fis is fucking gay, and chris robinson is one of the biggest douche bags in the history of sports. I don't give a fuck diplomacy on this one, fuck him and fuck fis. I hope those sports die and everyone wakes the fuck up and gets into a real sport or a real job.

id like to add one more thing. how can u call mogul skiing freestyle when u have a coach,and u are told what your STYLE should look like.. i call newschool skiing freestyle because u dont have any coach your free to do what u want, and theres no one telling u what to look like when u do tricks,

halfpipe? i wish. but seriously i thought i read something by mike douglas in powder that said that they were gonna allow inverts and stuff in freestyle moguls.

 
mike d said 75% chance there will be half pipe in 2006 olypics... there was already a huge thred i posted with people saying there thoughts on it... go back a few pages and u might find it

 
thanks. that'd be sweet. the best thing to happen to newschool since mike douglas himself, that is if they get some decent judges for it.

 
i dont really like the idea of halfpipe in the olympics, this means that it'll get more exposure which is good but newschool skiing might evolve into another type of mogul skiing

 
actually, in Freeze and Ski they have an article on FIS. THey are having 'Freestyle Skiercross' and halfpipe at 2006 olympics, and in some competition in Finland in 2005.

 
What the fuck is 'freestyle' skier cross. That is awesome now all they need is freestyle curling and the winter olypics will be worth watching.

 
they need to have the landing smack bang in the middle of a killer tight mogul field so the crashes would be better :) but having said that mogul skiing rocks. I'm just a freak who gets kicks out of seeing other people hurt themselves

 
ok - the thing about the article in Skier about FIS is that she kind missed the point intirely as to why people don't like FIS.

every point she makes in her whole argument is trying to justify that arials is just as cool to watch and just as hard to do, if not harder. but how many people can actually say that doing 3 backflips with 5 spins isn't hard and looks cool? even if they practice on water ramps till it's perfect than go off a jump that is the exact same every single time and all that other crap - it's still messed up.

what she didn't even mention in her article is FIS itself. she just talked about the skiers, didn't even get into the orginization and their stupid ass rules. She mentioned that Jonny did pull an off-axis 7 in the olympics... but if you all remember - the judges didn't even really know how to fuckin' judge the damn thing. how is that progression in the sport? sure, you can do a corked 7, but we're just going to mark it the same as a quad twister.

than again - i might have missed the point of this entirely, and if so - i'm sorry for making you all dumber and mad for reading what i have just typed.

no thats 100% right, that article in skier mag was realy dumb and totaly missed the point of why we dont like the fis. and whoever put it there should be fierd, unless they put it there to make the fis look dumber then they already do
