my friend told me the guy named the company lulu lemon so asians couldnt pronounce it. Someone tell me this is true haha

Founder Chip Wilson has said that he was inspired to name the company "Lululemon" because of Japanese peoples' inability to pronounce the letter "L", and the extra effort they would have to make to pronounce the name would work as a marketing tool in that country

Gender norms are dumb.

There's a lot wrong with thinking you're the opposite gender :)

I'm genderqueer, but good try. I don't identify as the opposite gender (good job reinforcing the binarism), but rather reject the idea of absolutes and occupy the broad space between man and woman. Don't forget it's a social construct anyway!

gender is more than just male and female. its a whole spectrum. your sex is either male or female unless you've surgically added a vagina or something, but gender is a mentality, so you aren't "assigned" a gender, you get to choose. now stop being a bigoted asshole.

My bad, I shouldn't have assumed you were capable of stringing your own thoughts together. Keep slinging those slurs out of fear!

What slurs are you talking about.... Are you offended by the word tranny? You can't be serious

dude, the difference between gender and sex is outlined in my intro to psychology textbook. this isn't some tumblr movement, it's pretty basic science. you can choose to pretend you're right and look like an ass-hat if you'd like.

to contribute to the thread, here is a picture of me in front of a dog licking a newborn calf's anus!

I don't think you're trolling here, and it really saddens me. Yes, tranny is a slur, unless you're part of the LGBTQ community, in which case if you happen to know somebody well it might be okay.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tranny_(slang)

idk why you guys get into it with him. its clearly obvious frenchy is a bleeding heart who has set up this elaborate ruse of portraying a very staunch conservative. its quite impressive, I must say.

A LESBIAN IS NOT A GAY.

A LESBIAN IS A STRONG HUMAN ENTITY THAT HAPPENS TO BE ATTRACTED TO ANOTHER STRONG HUMAN ENTITY, IT'S NOT THE SAME THING.

What is the definition of a queer compared to lesbian/gay/tranny/whatever?

Queer: 1) An umbrella term sometimes used by LGBTQA people to refer to the entire LGBT community. 2) An alternative that some people use to "queer" the idea of the labels and categories such as lesbian, gay, bisexual, etc. Similar to the concept of genderqueer. It is important to note that the word queer is an in-group term, and a word that can be considered offensive to some people, depending on their generation, geographic location, and relationship with the word.

Basically, I don't quite identify with one "label" in the spectrum. Queer is an easy way for me to say I'm not straight without neig overly specific and having to confine myself to one label

My only issue with all this is the self imposed segregation by referring to it as a "community."

Also in the S community, our letter means straight. It's a lot less confusing.
