Ohhhhhhh okay, so how about the other hundred-some thousand of adults who argue on on the internet? Your post is actually hypocritical in that you're doing the exact same "lame" thing that I, and nearly everyone else on NS, has done. As long as there are online forums, there will be adults arguing about one thing or another. I see adults arguing in bodybuilding, off-roading, and cooking forums. That's life. I have an opinion, and I voice it instead of just always going with the flow. I enjoy playing devil's advocate at times. I've gotten plenty of hate (as well as plenty of praise and support) on this site for over a decade; if the opinions of other NSers mattered so much to me, I'd stop posting, as a good chunk of people's reactions to the things I post (from weight lifting to gun control, tattoos to off-road trucks) are far from complimentary. As the saying goes, a lion does not concern himself with the opinions of the sheep.
Furthermore, it's natural for people to show off things they excel at. One of mine happens to be weight lifting and sculpting my body. I'm proud of what I've accomplished over the last year, and I've inspired many of my friends to change their lives as well.
frenchy, since you asked: no, my life does not revolve around weight lifting. It is a big part of my life, but I only spend about 10-15 hours a week in the gym. The other important things in my life right now include buying a house; spending time with my boyfriend; training for my sheep, goat, and caribou hunts in the fall; fishing; doing tons of outdoors shit; playing on four sports teams; working with the state's liquor licensees; and hangin' with friends. This past weekend I spent camping in the valley with tons of people for a softball tournament, and I did a 5 mile race. I didn't step foot in a gym all weekend, and I recently took three weeks off of lifting. And even if weight lifting WAS my entire life, there are far worse things I could be into. The lives of most of the people on this site revolve around skiing. Mine used to, but my knee and back are all fucked up now, so weight lifting, hunting, and fishing have filled that void. I'm sure you're going to say "who gives a shit", but hey, you asked.
