Im sure you all ahve heard about bird flu, but this shit is scary. If bird flu got to humans, we would al be fucked. A flu virus always is changing and growing, that is why there are new flu shots every year. The Bird flu is the same. IF the bird flu changed if structure to attack humans, we all would be screwed. This would most likey happen or start somewhere in aisa. And aisan people who has it, fly over to the us or canada (but why would an aisan want to go there, :-D) if this aisan snezed(sp?) seven rows in front of him/her would get the virus and 7 rows behind him/her. Then it is all down hill from there. There is no cure for bird flu and people would be getting it like no other.. if this shit really does happen... we are fucked.

Bird flu is not the thing we should be worried about. influenza is now resistant to the newest antibiotics and could spread much quicker over a shorter period of time.
 
I was listening to the NPR a couple weeks ago and tehy said that the bird flu might be over estamated becuase thousands of cases in southern Asia went unreported. Apparently a lot of farmers caught but never went in for testing becuase the symptoms were not that bad.
 
dude...ebola was in VA...luckily it was a monkey only strain, but that would have been much worse, make no mistake...there are much bigger things to worry about than the bird flu...think about all the predecessors, mad cow, foot and mouth disease, SARS, west nile, the list goes no...If bird flu spreads to humans it will only kill the weak, people who could nearly be killed by a head cold, so be it...social darwinism is cool by me...

theres alway going to be some sort of virus, nevermind the varios doomsday prophecies that will not occur. id say the only thing to worry about right now is global warming, because WE can prevent it
 
well itll be one hell of a pandemic, and might kill a couple million people, but seriously we will live through it, and the worlds already overpopulated, plus its probably just a media hype
 
yeah they found out SARS is only susceptible to very few people or something like that. and the avion flu? not worried about it. i can tell you that it won't come here from a human. if a human in asia has it, he will be immediately quarantined and definitely not allowed to go anywhere. i heard that in if it did come here, it would be from migrating birds from asia. i believe we're prepared to handle a breakout and would be able to quarantine an infected area.
 
It's the apocalypse, mates. Oh well, at least the disease that will destroy us is a pun of sorts- the bird flu.
 
exactly. with all of the people on earth it is almost impossible for a virus to kill us out. there is always a handfull of people who have some physical anomoly and their body is immune to it. 2% of the human population is immune to HIV/AIDS so i doubt a virus will kill us. also people didnt die from the black plague becuase it was harder to travel in the middle ages. no airplanes or cars sorta isolated the disease.
 
yea dude. ebola is scary scary shit. i read "the hot zone" wich is a book about ebola outbreaks. it talked about the one in VA and it was crazy. think about if ebola got into the hands of the wrong people. if they discovered the source of the kind that kills humans they could get somebody in an airport or a subway and freakin wreak havoc. ebola turns a human into a virus bomb. scary shit man.
 
Im still waiting for the UFOS to fly down with 100ft Native Americans...but until then i wil just sit and laugh at all u morons who worry about Bird Flu!!
 
Bird flu (H5N1) is dangerous because it can kill people with immune problems, respitory problems and newborn children. Everyone else is just going to get a bad cold, nothing else.

What makes it scary is that there is no external immunity agaisnt the flu. Tamiflu can only prevent it.

I just love it when the media gets involved, pharmaciutical compagnies get rich from people's panic, people's acts get desperate and spread fear faster than the flu.

Hear me out, mankind will end due to political war, not a disease.
 
wait... i dunno if anyone has mentionned this yet:

the FLU, just regular old flu, kills about what, 2000 people a year in the USA. 3000 in france.

and so, how many people have died of the bird flu this year that had access to proper medical treatement and had basic hygiene? hmmm... 2? 10?

and like someone said, the symptoms are minimal apparently in a healthy adult.
 
actually ,a little genetic housecleaning is in order for mankind, the babies that can't handle the bird flu are culled leaving he human race a little stronger afterward.
 
i didnt read it but i thought i saw something in the paper today about the u.s. closing off the border to canada or something.it had something to do with the bird flu too i think I could be completely wrong tho. I'll check it out when i get home
