i cant argue that east coast skiing gives you super ninja skills...but when you start having to make it as a skier...there is NO other option but to move west

ok..im an east coaster, with a tahoe address...

lets see...as an east coaster i haved somehow been able to ski pony express, chimney sweep, spun off of the box and pretty much out ski ever west coast monky i have encountered...you west coasters need to learn how to turn

i inivte you to try to follow me at squaw this year...last season i had 120 days between squaw and mammoth...as an east coaster

ill im you opening day...early season is the best cause the lines are still technical

i did the dedication thing for years...man cold weather and no real pow days suck...

the bush and j-peak kick ass...but i have to say having lived and skied both coasts and CO...the west coast has it hands down

warm weather..way more snow..coolor people...no joeys from jersey

 
i like the west,but east takes more dedication.people who are used to skiing fresh pow and 4,000 feet of vert and 3000 acres wouldnt come and ski our tiny mtns with buletprrof ice on 30 or 40 runs. but i have become used to it,and with even fewer runs than that to ski on.so when i hit it out west its so amazing i just love it.and yes i would rather live west than east,im no being unloyal to the east,but face it the better skiing is in the west

april 03 after a 12 inch pow day turned to hero buff...landed back seat after the second stage but rallied out down to headwall

i raced DH in college for years...the strgtlinning thing is fun!!

i cartwheeled out of smitiots this march skiing with kevin and kieth omeara (two VTr also)

my usual crew is with the omeara's and fitz

part of the spatula crew

hit me up sometime....we have fun up there

the sweep is a daily hit when the traverse is not too bad...but this year i spent more time in mammoth and sledding

the east is way better. First for park: Corey Vanular, Sarah Burke, New Canadian air force, the phils, charles gagnier, simon dumont, dave crichton, Jf houle, Jd Zicat, tim russel, Liam Downey, Dan Marion and lots of others I probably forgot.

Now for big mountain: Hugo Harrison, Jonny Law, Marc andré Belliveau, etc.

We've got both winners of the freeskiing events at the x games And Hugo Harrisson who hasnt finshed less than 5th in big mountain comp.

so the east wins by far

 
Im sorry but this should close this thread Clarke. You have heard my theory before and yes now everyone else can hear it. I didnt wanna bring it out but here it is. All you east coast people dont just brush off this theory, listen to it. Embrace it and understand it.

-East Coast People are like Mexicans and the West is America. Think about it. You guys all really want to get to 'America' but pretend like you dont cause you still wanna have pride for where you come from. But once you make it big, you ski the west a lot, film in the west. Taste the sweet powder, the great things the west has to offer. Once you do, you move out here its like moving to America. Then all the other 'mexicans' you used to ski with get kinda mad at you because you dont ride east coast anymore. But in reality you are just jealous that they have actually made it to 'America'!!! Read that twice so you can actually see this metaphor.

well for the 18 years of my life i lived on the east coast there was no " family" amongst skiers at all *SAS CREW EXEMPT FROM PREVIOUS STATEMENT*

and living where i do now......... MAmmOth BitChes! everyone is chill with everyone, the eastcoast is first off where im from so dont think im some "westside hater" but honestly kids are grumpy,cocky, and for the most part wack (the MOST part) and its no wonder its cold theres no snow, and even the parks suck.

east coast represent, i totally agree that we have a TON of dedication. i want to say more then west coast, but that would just make this thread longer, and there might be a really dedicated west coast skiier. but when your going out to ski, in -20 degree weather, while they are blowing snow, and there is a 30 mph wind, and you think this is a GOOD day, you know your pretty dedicated. the west coast should be going off, EVERYONE over there should be blowing up, i mean, if you switched the east coast skiiers and the west coast skiiers there would be a major progression or some shit and all the sudden at the next comp someone would pull like a switch 1440 blunt.

theres no family on the east coast(except rochester) the east coast is just people from nyc snowplowing and poaching the the icy hill i have to ski on. awickes i am a mexican, a goddam dirt mexican
