In the Freeskier buyer's guide the DUmont is said to be a wood core, however the mold is from an older salomon monocoque i think, I just got the ski two days ago and I'm not sure it is wood, The salomon website does little to helo figuring out the construction of The DUmont ski. If anyone knows anything about this ski please help.

The Dumont is a wood core ski. The side walls are slanted at 30 degrees. This helps disperce impact against rails. They are amazing skis. I'm sure that all of the Salomon haters on this site will tell you otherwise.

"Slantwall" is what they are calling them.

This ski is super sick and have what I think are the best graphics of the year.

Yes as the Red Bull guy said above the skis are a wood core and have a 30 degrees side-wall. The edges are also full width total edge reinforced and a flat top sheet it has a radius of 29m and a side cut of 117/83/110 and only comes in 176cm

I hope that anwsers your question for you.

hey guys thanks for quoting the freeskier buyer's guide, but we all have that magazine and know what it says... my question is does anyone really know, like have you drilled into it, or do you have information from Salomon

Are you from Salomon? I have the ski, it says it's made in france, all the other wood salomons are made in Romania. So, is the Dumont made at the snowboard factory or what's the deal with it being wood... it flexes like wood, but it just doest make sense, I have a huge betting pot at the shop going most of the guys don't think it's wood. We will drill it and settle the score soon.

WOOOD salomon skis? the return of the old 1080 i would say. This is awsome, these skis are going to be tanks.

Yes you have won your bet then. The DUMONT is a wood core with 30 degrees side walls and a flat top sheet.

If you have any more questions about Salomon feel free to message me.

Cheers and congrats of your win!!

no way man, this is the first year salomon is making a wooden ski, the first 1080 was isocell ,monocoque (foam / dunkin donuts cups)

yup. its salomons first wood core twin, other than the GUN labs last year, whch im almost positive had some wood in them. the dmonts are sick lil skis, but if they rea;lly are only 29m radius, thats dumb. that very straight

yeah, the yellow and then blue and then jf/dorion/endo 1080s were wood/foam combo. if you knock on the dumonts, then knock on the foil or thruster, you can definately hear that the dumont is not foam. the foil and thruster sound hollow when you knock on them, but not the dumonts. kinda sucks the ski is a bit short for me. are they actually a 29m turning radius? that seems way long for a park/pipe ski.
