The down low on Push films (read before buying any movies)

The following is some info on push films that you should take into account before buying any ski movie. Before i start this off i just want to say that I love thier movies, and they are by far my favourite ever made. (The following is by no means one sided though).

When your buying a push films movie, be aware that at least 60-70% of it can be seen in poor boyz movies. If you watch alot of snowboard and skate movies, you will recognize most of the songs too. For example, the not another ski movie trailer is Appleyards segment in Sorry. Last years teaser was Peter Line in the resistance. The mid part in the scanners has a song from ya right, along with a bunch more.

What your getting though, is an amazing movie. It has all the best footage from poorboyz (along with karlstrom, lars, and the rest of the scanners) and it has awesome editing and always the most epic soundtrack of the year. If you are looking at X, but asking yourself if you are gonna be able to handle what will most likley be a generic soundtrack (rap rock what?) and alright editing, or if you always ask yourself why ski movies have to suck so much more than snowboard or skate movies - buy Not Another Ski Movie.

what is it about these movies that you think is so great.. the fact theyre soundtracks are from other movies, or that were going to see all the same footy in X?

here is a 'ACEOFSPADES POST FOR DUMMIES'

I have nothing against people who prefer basic editing with mainstream music like in ready fire aim. I was not insulting steve at at all, just pointing out that he has different taste.

What i am trying to say is great about the movie is the fact that the editing and music is way way better than other poorboyz movies. I am getting not another ski movie instead of X because it is lots of the same footy with better editing and music. Other people who enjoy snowboard movies editing and music should pick up 'not another ski movie'

Do you guys understand what i am trying to say now?

Focused had one of the most original soundtracks I've ever heard. Seth's Modest Mouse sound is easily my favorite song of all time. But you arre saying that these other companies only use mainstream music. I think you need to go watch some other movies before you jump to conclusions.

modest mouse has been done before and seths part was as generic as editing could be. they were using fucking CKY in that movie.

skiier man your a dunbass and ace of spades knows whats up he just said that he doesnt like generic music like in ready fir aim and i agree with him. this movies is gonna have the same kin of feel as most good snowboarding movies have which in terms of editing. music and quality are way sicker than ski videos.

you know what? that was a supersick teaser, and i can see where you are coming from...it seems like the editing is very similar to some board flicks ive seen. It looks fucking sick and it might be one other films i might consider buying. Check it out, its worth the viewing

What I meant by that was that 75% of this site aren't going to read your whole post and will probably think the movies suck because of the first couple of paragraphs.

And... I loved Focused... but didn't like RFA. If you could see my movie you'd see that I'm into tech editing that goes with the music.

I think pushfilm makes so much better movies than PBP. Ace of spades you have 100% rigt what you saying. The pbp editing is lame with flashes all the time (check the 'X'teaser) do the want us to get a epelepsi attack? And it so boring that PBP and push have the axaxt same footage.. I gonna be more the same clip this year than 2003, it sucks.. It just like you see the movie kill bill vol1 has the same clip as in the bad, ugly ... You can expect more from a hollywood company like PBP.. i think all of your guys should buy not another ski movie, instead of X, because they are fucking scandinavians

Anyway, I'm very stoked on this years movie,but Scanners was pretty mediocre. Old,used songs that sucked for the most part and editing was pretty crap. Seriously. Maybe you liked it but there wasn't really anything that would have separated it from Focused or RFA, except for those stupid intros for Robin and Sondre (OMG beer! He musta be c-crazyh!!1!)

Pep's part stood out. It was incredible.

BUT YES I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THEIR NEW MOVIE,THE EDITING WAS PRETTY COOL,and I love the song!!!!! The fact that they do use USED songs (from other films) DOES MAKE THEM MORE UNORIGINAL,THOUGH!! Why do ski movies have to be like snowboard movies,that I can't answer. A smooth edit and sick riding,that's what I want. I got it with Forward last year and still undecided about this year. Your post didn't change shit in my mind,but good luck with ya propaganda.

Just based on the teaser I think this movie is the best so far. The skiing was incredible. This has now become the number one movie on my list knocking wsk106 to number 2

 
thats weird i said in my comment when i watched the trailer its gana be like that cauz dumonts clips seemed to be in X and i said i hope its not gana be like that, cauz this year thats all it was, i musta seen CR crash in the pipe on that one trick like 10000 times

This guys thread means nothing! The wholeeee movie is different, just because Henrik (the guy who makes NASM) films for PBP dosnt mean its all the same footy.. and it´s different angles at that.

 
yea im all with the editing. if we just wanted the footy, we could just have them take their raw clips and put one directly after another. editing is a huge part of vids, and better editing makes it more interesting to watch

I think the only thing that seperates this trailer from all the other trailers (besides the editing) is the fact that they mos def used there 'A' footage for this trailer.. I can gurantee you that most of the sick stuff in there is in X. But that stepup was Beau-TI-ful.

Going back to my earlier post I said nothing about the footage or the editing I said that Focused had a very original soundtrack. They had bands like Turbonegro, Primus, Thievery Corperation, and People Under the Stairs. None of these bands are mainstream by any deffinition and before this summer neither was Modest Mouse until they got on a new record label. Your argument blows deal with it!

Focused had an awsome soundtrack. I meen there defintly is some mute and fastforward segments, but some of the segments songs are my favourite of any movie. ESPECIALLY Seth's.

I hope Yearbook is very similar to Focused cus i loved it way better then the Ski Movie series.

And the parachutes and snowmobiles is only a small portion of the movie... plus the base jumping is cool to watch.

word to Jibtech, NASM looked like the same style of editing as X, although I didn't hear the music. RFA was actually pretty good and I still watch it from time to time, music could be better, but everyone likes there own type of music. I prefer underground Hip hop. X teaser looked way better than NASM, my opinion. All you haters can lick meh nuts.

Yeah why does everyone complain about the parachute and snowmobile stuff in MSP movies. It's like 5 minutes of a 60 minute movie. There is still lots of sick footage. Most of the action sports videos now are only 25-30 minutes long so it's nice to actually get your money's worth with MSP regardless of a small amout of crappy footage.
