This is what saddens me deeply about America. People make up for their lacking knowledge of economics, politics, etc by voting down a ticket line. The train of thought is well the democrats didn't fix this in 2 years so the tea party has to! Then when we realize a supply side economic policy isn't going to help compete with international just like printing off a shit ton of money it will be all hail the democrats savior!
Look, judge a candidate on their specific views in relation to a specific situation. Don't pay attention to the smear campaigns that are run by every politician. A lot of people are tossing around insults at Obama, Bush, etc and probably can't negate any of the things they have done.
Any political attention to Sarah Palin's family is completely unwarranted and not appropriate for politics. However, it's funny that the same people saying you can't bash Palin etc etc were ripping Obama apart on his beginning race for being inexperienced. Obama is good at talking about change and bringing nothing significant about. Palin has subjected herself to her own stupidity many times. Yes the media blows it out of proportion. I haven't watched any interviews or speeches from her that have been articulate or even provide evidence for her outrageous claims. Therefore, I am going to assume she would be a horrible candidate for office. Not because her daughter is pregnant, but because of the intangible things she has proposed.

no Im not talking about the GM stimulus, which is scary enough in itself but that american reinvestment and recovery act which has done nothing for recovery. It's not too soon to see if its worked. It was made out to stimulate the economy and it didnt. Biden has admitted it many times, as well as other dems and economists. Healthcare has already shown to be crap because no one wants it. It's already risen a bunch of insurance rates and will cost FAR more than they though--huge surprise there.

Misinformation. All the republicans were saying about democrats comes from their voting records of people in congress. Theres no secret that congress has a terrible approval rating. And I saw plenty of negative democratic ads against republicans in my state too. Oh so the ideas ceom from racsim and conspiracty theories? I support the dems and most of their ideals, but they are fucking pussies. The republicans are waaay better campaigners, and they know how to spark peoples interests. The dems need to start fighting fire with fire.

wow i dont even know where to start on your post. socialized health care isn't a new idea, it's been tried in different parts of the world and failed miserably. most notably in Canada where the government tells you when and where you can go for treatment, waiting lists for procedures get long and in the long run it discourages people from wanting to become doctors. why would you invest a ton of money into your future just to have to work for the government at whatever wage they decide is right for you? lots of people in Canada come to US to buy policies from American insurance companies because it's a better system. TRUE that health care costs are rising, and some people think government takeover is the answer there? wrong. there is never only one way to do something and there are most certainly other options. so tell me how you can takeover health care...on top of the AUTO INDUSTRY, STUDENT LOANS, BANKING and MORTGAGE Associations and not have your taxes raised as promised by Obama? How many more examples do you people need? Please tell me where the money is going to come from to completely overhaul the health care industry for over 300 MILLION people, when it doesn't work properly for the what 15 million? people that live just to our north.

Onto derbski or something, many of those things you listed ARE in fact duties that the federal government is or should be obligated to do, but those things have little to do with the socialist agenda that Obama and his cronies (OMFG I just called the administration Cronies). Auto-Industry, Banking and Mortgages, and thats just to start. They're even going to try taking over insurance, their answer to everything seems to be to let the government run it and it will get better. This is the same administration that thought giving the president the power to shut down the internet at his discretion was a good idea. The government taxes heavily, especially in NY where state taxes are already through the roof before federal income tax. Did anyone know that federal income tax has only been around for about 100 years since Woodrow Wilson, who was a socialist, implemented. Back then the degree of economic and political literacy was very low so it was easier to get thing done. Liberals always think that FDR got us out of the depression, really it was the war that got out of the depression, FDR greatly expanded the role and size of federal government and to this day the left keeps trying to increase the size of government which goes against our Constitution.

Maybe it's because I came from a family that had to work hard for our wealth and think it's unfair to take money from people like us to the kind of people that have 4 kids because they can get 600$ a month or something per kid and not have to get a job. My one roommate that I didnt know before moving into this place used to go to Cornell, if he can afford to go to Cornell..he doesn't need welfare money, which for some reason he gets.

I know I missed commenting on some people's posts but I'll be back. When the government wants to give you something with one hand, they're almost always taking something away with the other.
