The difference between NS and Teton Gravity...

well, i do believe that may be statistically correct, but you must look at a larger sample size for completely accurate results.

amidoinitrite?

I come to NS for edits, information about contests, park stuff, M&A, and shits and giggles. I go to TGR for gear help, their M&A, trip reports, and the Tahoe thread.

I spend equal amounts of time between NS and TGR, on NS I post a lot of useless crap and some good stuff, on TGR I post in the Tahoe thread.

I don't even ski park and I love TGR and visit there daily, but I can't make myself convert from NS to TGR. Even with all the annoying and douchey members I sit on NS all day.

tech talk > gear talk though. Sorry NS, any mag is much smarter than your average NSer.

NS- 12 year olds who are wanna be gangsters and would pay to deep throat Tom Wallisch.

TGR- 50 year olds who wear skin tight aertyx(sp) who shove granola bars who their ass.

Pick your stereotype.

NS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no but really, I have respect for TGR skiers they slay shit on the mountain.

I just don't really like the layout of TGR IMO Newschoolers is much simpler for my brain.

I go to TGR if i have a real question about skis and what not. Although Newschoolers has done me well in the past.

ya its strange but TGR people are actually weird i check it out sometimes aswell usually because newschoolers search bar sucks ass and those nerds give some prett good info on skis

but they are all nerds/weeners/dorks/dweebs i get the feeling they all suc at skiiing or are like 35

tgr is more like 25-35 and wear average size/loose fitting gear, ride fat stiff skis, and drink alot

epic ski is 50+, wear tight columbia gear, ride directional carving skis no bigger then 83 under foot, and think kids these days listen to to much rap music

Every maggot I've ever skied with has been an awesome skier. The difference is that the majority of mags RIP big mountain lines but don't bother with the park, while NSers are (stereotypically) all about the park, or at least spend a good amount of time in it.

when i have children, (assuming they enjoy skiing) im going to show him that his father could once throw down on the slopes too. assuming i can still do rails and a few spins and that my knees arent completely unnatural

makes sense to compare a thread about specific tech talk to one in the forum completely devoted to everything non-ski related.

as do mags find NS to be a shitshow. You probably didn't really understand it at first either- it's all about spending a little time there to figure it out. I prefer the NS forum layout, but TGR's searchbar is infinitely better, as are some other forum features. That's a benefit of vBulletin.

I don't understand why there are (or it seems that there are) 2 different profile pages for my account. Going through "my home" and going through "control panel" give me 2 different profiles...

I just find it to be a confusing layout.

Close. I'm 27 and I 'suc' at skiing but I'm more of a raging douchebag than a weener. Most mags fucking slay tho I must say.
I think most mags feel you on the whole airborne thing, but prefer a rock/cliff drop in the woods with a fresh landing. Nothing against park, 'cept for it's groomed and I fiend for fresh. I personally am all about skiing the trees when they're in and skiing drops, and tree/huck stoke is what TGR is all about. That and the opinionated douchebaggery, which slays me. Great skier community with the mags as well- fkn couchsurfer's dream. Also Tech Talk > anything. You want to see stuffy old fucks, go to Epicski. Holy shit, rocker is still mythical over there.
I came over to NS because I am finally convinced by my park skier friends that I need to work on rotations and tricks and shit, but here is literally zero info about that stuff over there to get your head in the game. That and there actually are girls here, which makes the place smell nice. TGR = skibum sausagefest. That and I laugh my ass off almost every time I log on, you mfers crack me up.

Humor: NS>TGRSki info: TGR>NSAkward developmental stage life fail lolz: NS>TGRSteeze stoke: NS>TGRSki stoke: TGR>NS

All in all... NS takes it on the humor and social end, TGR takes it in ski stoke and info. Just my .02

This guy knows what hes talking about haha i only ever go on tgr if i cant find the info im looking for on NS. I dont care for the forum layout over there though.

hahaha

and NS is just so easy on the eyes... i guess if i was forced to go on the site that more closely resembled the kind of skiing i do the most recently, i might have to go to TGR. but at this point i'd rather immaturity and nonsense on the internet vs a bunch of snobby older dudes. i mean, this is the internet. and i do still love park, esp rails

yeah, I asked the same question about salomon s914's in both forums and received no responses on NS while the jiberish thread got bumped 50 times in an hour, while on TGR a mag uploaded and sent me the entire manual for the bindings.

honestly, what do you guys expect?

the majority of mags have been skiing/working on skis since before the average NS'er was born.
