Maybe I'm just a homo that likes snowboarding vids even though I'm a skier but I love watching snowboarding videos, especially ones from Travis Rice. I just bought The Art Of Flight and I personally enjoyed it more than Attack of La Nina, The Grand Bizarre, and One For The Road (the only videos I've seen this year). Does anybody else watch snowboard flicks?
 
i know its nothing like skiing but some snowboard vids are sick. and this years ski films havent been that good (one for the road was bomb but still)
 
I actually like snowboarding edits alot. Art of flight was SO dope. But i think that there have been some good ski movies put out too.
 
well i definitely liked the films so far this year, they just weren't what i had hoped for. and yes art of flight exceeded all of my wildest expectations. sick film

Ski movies watched in the last 6 months - 1, maybe 2?

It helps that both of my roommates are boarders, but I really just enjoy board flicks more. Theres nothing wrong with it.
 
I think watching snowboarders hit rails is so bland and boring to watch. There's so much more variety of tricks with skis. I mean, i don't think i've ever seen an edit where a snowboarder does more than 2 swaps.

Snowboarders Floating clean spins off giant booters i could watch all day though.
 
the fact that you think 2 swaps isn't "enough" is pretty much what I hate about skiing.

yes but snow boarders also have 50/50, nose press, tail press, lip, back lip, board, front board, blunt, etc.
 
i enjoy watching snowboarding films and edits, it puts the mountain and the way you see it in a new perspective and gives me ideas for stuff. art of flight was great on first watch but the ssssssssssssssssllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ruined if for me to watch again. dont get me wrong the boarding was sick but it just doesnt get me as stoked to go out and ride as any ski film/edit. i had a different issue with after dark, on first watch i felt meh about it but watching again a couple of times i fucking love it, same with other stuff released this year.

there is so much more to do on rails on a snowboard than on skis. your comment really makes my head hurt.

the number of switchups one can do doesn't dictate someone's progression by any means. That wasn't my intention. But what the number of swaps DOES reflect, is that skiers have more manueverability on rails, hence more tricks.

Yeah snowbarders have nose press, tail press, lip, back lip, and so on. It's all part of the same discipline that fuels progression. I was just using switchups as an example

Still doesn't change that i think most snowboard rail tricks look boring and bland as fuck. Cry about it. and i snowboard as well as ski.
 
i dont think theres a right or wrong answer between which sport is "better" but i think skiing is definitely harder in a lot of ways, and also we dont sit on our fat asses in the middle of the run like boarders do
 
my favorite film this year, ski or snowboard was easily videograss's shoot the moon.

just sayin', but everyone should go watch it
 
I don't watch many of either anymore.

Other than ns ski edits. I do prefer snowboard movies though.

Still got some pretty dope old school ones. Catalyst with the upside down rail at copper. Unleashed with the fucking snow loop and the 1/4 gap. I just love that 90s steez.

yes and no, freeskiing evolved from moguls and arieals, but also came to be because of snowboarding and the whole who gives a fuck attitude
 
i would have to agree that the freesking culture and attitude was derived from snowboarding but its still its own sport and just like in every industry, things feed of each other. (i.e. hip hop- drake got this from big sean who was inspired by kanye, etc)
 
ok im going to put this as simply as i can

SNOWBOARDING FUCK SUCKS WHY WOULD YOU RATHER DO IT THAN SKIING. thats my opinion
