The Dark Knight Rises

Saw at midnight, obviously not going to post any spoilers but i will say it was fucking amazing and if you have any interest in batman or any superheros what so ever than go see it. There were a few things that i would change if i could but it was 100% amazing. Also Christopher Nolan is going to direct a superman movie, i'm stoked to see what that will be like and hopefully it will be half as good as this trilogy was.

Here's my review. (No spoilers. I'm not a dick.)

Movie starts out really awesome. When Bane first starts talking I knew he was going to be a character I liked. I loved his dialogue throughout seeing that it was fresh, new, and unlike any villain I said seen portrayed in a movie recently. The film keeps it's fresh touch going for about 25% then it starts slowly going downhill because of Anne fucking Hathaway. She wrecked parts of this movie with her cheesy one-liners that would even be stupid in the 80's (Why can't anyone portray a good Catwoman?). Batman then starts to get a little corny to whenever he's paired with Hathaway which really made me mad, but it was no George Clooney so I shouldn't get too frustrated. The movie starts picking itself up again towards the middle-endish portion when Bane really starts to make an impact on Gotham. I mean, the fight scenes in this were pretty awesome. The ending was absolutely ridiculous and far-fetched. I say this because I always relied on Nolan to do a good, realistic Batman.

Anyway, I would say it's worth the watch. 6/10.

Sparknotes: Fantastic in the beginning, starts to slow down (gets cheesy), builds itself up a lil' bit towards and during the end. Does not live up to the Dark Knight.

Prayers are with the victims and families of the Colorado shootings. People are fucked up.

I thought it was definitely really good, but the middle part of the movie dragged on. I understand it helped develop the plot but it started to get boring. The ending was awesome though, just thought they couldve cut it down in the middle and shortened the film up a lot.

I liked the extra length because of the further character development it allowed for Bruce Wayne. Sometimes you just have to deal with a little less action.

I really liked it...I just love how deep in the story they go. Makes it more interesting in my opinion

They have also began writing a screenplay for Justice League, which would have Batman, the new Superman, maybe Green Lantern (even though I heard it sucked)and they would probably have to throw in Wonder Woman.

It would be sick if it kept the same "dark/more serious" theme that the Batman and new Superman movie took opposed to an Ironman or Avengers movie which is more light hearted and corny.

Unfortunately I think I read somewhere that Nolan won't be involved in any way shape or form in the Justice League films. Well I guess not unfortunate, I'd be much more interested in other original films he'd make than a justice league movie.

I completely agree with your review dude. I feel like there was a lot of build up throughout the movie and not much delivery. The ending was super corny too.

They will have to make a new Batman, and a new Superman, and Wonder Woman...And Superman movies have never been great, it will be hard to get hype for a new Batman movie since this series just finished...

i was not terribly impressed. despite the long length i really didnt feel connected to the characters especially the new chick wont say more to spoil but you know who im talking about. additionally banes voice was extremely comical and i couldnt take him seriously plus he really didnt have that good of a presence. finally i almost wish the ending ended the way you thought it did before the last 5 minutes if you know what i mean. it just felt like a copout and kinda corny. and well joseph gordon levit better not get his own movie haha

anne hathaway was my biggest problem with the movie..

bane, was awesome. although, sometimes you couldnt understand him.

in the end tho, it was a well done movie. dont think it will live up to the dark knight and the performance of the joker. but it was still very well done.

i think there will be a fourth. they definitely left it open for a batman and robin. and christopher nolan has already stated in interviews he would be open to the idea of a fourth.. i think it would be sick.

I don't know why some of you are saying that it ended "corny". If you think about it, and it actually ended how you thought it would then that's almost much more cliche. And speaking of payoff, that would have been such a ripoff.

If he did do a fourth with a batman and robin (which it is definitely open for) I hope the villain would be Mr. Freeze, it was a joke the batman with Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze and I think nolan could really make a good movie with him as a villain.

All I could think of when Bane was talking

It was such an awesome movie, it really lived up to the first two, I don't understand why people didn't like Anne hathaway as catwoman, I thought she pulled her off quite well. Also, the bat was awesome to watch in action, if you haven't seen it you must!

Just came back from it, and i think that i was frankly a bit dissapointed, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't nearly as good as the first dark knigh... for starters, Bane. Bane seemed to me less truly fucked up than joker had been, there wasnt enough to him, he was just a big strong guy with a scary face and a shitload of henchman. Instead of the way that the joker was, his "some men just want to watch the world burn" thing was truely fucked up. In addition, the plot was too dire, the consequences were so high that it didn't seem real, there was no way that it could really happen, no way for us to identify with it...granted there were those problems, althogether, it was really good, 7 or 8/10

and Anne Hathaway as catwoman was fucking hot

i hope this doesn't warrant the ban for a spoiler, though i don't think it does. And if it does, then why is someone who hasn't seen it yet even reading this thread for, what's the purpose if you haven't seen it...

I'm not understanding all this hate on it. I thought it was fucking fantastic. Just got back from it and holy shit it was awesome. Probably gonna go see it again soon.

Agreed on everything, but Bane. Bane is exactly how you put him. He does not need to be like the Joker, because he, simply, just isn't. In the comics, Bane was just a very intelligent man with superior strength and training that rivaled Batman's and at one point, was far greater. There is a reason the Joker is Batman's arch nemesis and that is because they are both insane. However, one uses his insanity for good and the other, pure, unforgiving, evil.

I DEFINITELY agree with what you said about the consequences. At the end, I felt like I had just sat through a Transformers flick. The kind of movie where you feel like you don't want to watch it again for a long, long time because it severely lacked key points to a good film. I don't feel as if I'm reading too much into it either because I relied on Nolan so much to create a dark, reliable rendition of Batman. I am disappointed.
