The consequneces of cliff dropping in early season

So today was my first day of skiing for the year. Of course, my friends and I decide to hit this cliff. Its not big or anything, maybe 15 feet. So we hit it one run, came back and went to hit it again. First kid goes, no prob. Then I go, land and right as I'm landing I feel a thud under my left boot. I ride away and take off the ski to inspect the damage. You might not be able to see from this pic but I slammed my edge and part of my base up about half an inch. Good thing they were old skis.

That was you? I was thinking about hitting that one, but then I saw some bomb holes with rocks in them and something told me it wasn't a good idea. I'm waiting for a little more snow before I start jumping.

No, I just saw the rocks. I didn't see anybody jumping either of those cliffs, just lots of tracks.

Skis? I was on my scratches today. I wanted to use the pocket rockets, but I can't ski a day at Big Sky without at least one core shot so I left them at home.

me and a few friends were dropping this cliff the other day. 15-18 feet. we have like a foot and a half of natural soft snow. We hit it first time, and it was like butta'. Then, second time, my buddy hits it, and i go to the edge to see where to take off not to land in a crater, and he had sunk through to the ground, kicked up all this dirt in the snow. pretty crazy. Then I hit it, turn around, and the tails of my skis had scraped this rock and uncovered it. if i had gone just a little slower i would have snapped skis, or legs, or knees or something.

That kinda sucks.....although right abotu now i think i would take a nasty core shot to my new skis just for the feeling of dropping a cliff

i was skiing in colorado late last season, and i slashed up on this ridge thing, and my right ski just exploded off of my boot. turns out i railed this rock and it damn near tore my seth pistol in half. bad day. i'm lucky i didn't ruin my ankle.

your lucky they are mad trix...anything would have exploded on impact!

those babies are bomb proof

Yeah, they have survived through alot. They are still totally skiable too, just a little less control on the inside edge haha.
