yah, so i thought this was worthy of a new thread:

this morning i was driving North on I-405 and at the I-5 junction (i dunno if you guys know where i'm talking about..it's by Lynnwood at that overpass), I hit ice, lost control and spun 2-3 times across 3 lanes. I came to a stop when i hit a Medical Aid Car that was parked on the side of the freeway. They were there responding to 2 other accidents before me that occurred at the exact same spot. 5minutes after my collision i saw another collision at the same spot. Thank God there were no other cars directly behind me or in any other lanes. So, my car is completely demolished, i have a jeep cherokee, and the whole hatchback in the rear was completely torn off, my front was basically falling off, and my hood was bent up. So shit. no car for the season. In addition to that the cop gave me an infraction of $153 for 'driving too fast for conditions' that is so bullshit. Now we're contacting Chrysler Jeep to tell them the airbag didn't deploy, maybe we can get some money from that...bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad, extra, double, full on bad day

wow that really sucks christine. i would say it, but i wont cause thats just not fair and we were only joking about it before. im sure sean will say it though, he even made a joke about a dead man. but anways i would say you could get rides up with us, but since you're gonna be goin to stevens and we're not, it doesn't really work. sorry to hear about it. you should just sew (sp?) chrystler/jeep. that could have killed you.

tom, maybe she has a good reason for that (ie crashing your car numerous times, and didn't you crash hers once?)

dude, christine, that TOTALLY sucks! But...you know, if could have been a LOT worse. From how you described it, with how bad the car was hurt, it probably really could have killed you very easily. A car is a car, they can always be bought, but you're ok, and thats whats important.

Again, truly sorry to hear about this...I'm sure you're pretty razzed from it. I remember once (a week after getting my license) going over Stevens Pass, I decided to 'test' the road to see if it was icey by jerking my wheel once....spun around 4 times completely across the highway and had about 3 SUVS barely miss me coming from the other direction..... chin up. Its just a car.

that sucks so much. What happened to the aid car? IF you had to pay for damages on that that wouldnt be good at all.

The first weekend I had my license, I was go to get onto the freeway(the Northbound Kirkland entrance by Costco) and I want to go super fast around the corner so I hit the gas. I was being really dumb because It had just rained, so my car didn't grip and I hit the curb on the left side and bounced off and did 180 while sliding across the two lanes and stop about a foot from the Guard rails on the right side. That was scary.

 
glad you are ok, and yeah they give too fast for conditions ticket even if you are going 1 mph. as long as you slide... its stupid, but the insurance companies have to have it.

yeah, I think its pretty retarded when they give someone a ticket after getting in an accident like that, I mean jesus. How mean can you be?! Unless the person was driving like recklesly of course, but in this kind of situation, I think thats total bull shit.

britt, i went off the road once, and halfway off once. and the tiem i went all the way off it was because of a blowout i think.

my dad just got a 2003 lexus rx 470. when i drive the the mountian i get to borrow it hopefully.

Lawsuit kevin, not sew.

Sorry about your car, that really really sucks. I wouldnt expect to get much money from Chrysler because they never gave us shit for having to replace our brakes on out 2002 jeep 3 times. Some faulty part or something, totally thier fault but they havent given us shit, even after the recall. Anyways, hope your claim goes better than ours.

Muteman, yah, the medical aid car wasn't damaged NEARLY as much as mine. It had a small dent and a some paint scratches. Those things are way heavy duty.

So yah, I just figured out that the kind of insurance we have is the kind that covers the other people, and not our own car. So basically our $5000 to $6000 jeep is totally down the drain. Oh and breaking news: i'm gonna lose my job (the coolest job ever) over this...but my friends volunteered to drive me over the next 3-4 wks...so my job might be prolonged a little...but i don't want my friends to have to drive me everywhere, i'll get some information about a bus or something.

yeah, the bellevue transit center is like RIGHT there. super close. and bus passes aren't all that expensive. just go to UW next year, and you'll get a free bus pass.

But seriously, cindy buses it all the way to the zoo AND the disney store. sometimes both in the same day. she's never had a car, and has been fine. well, she's got the suby patrol chauffer over here.... but stilll. Metro is mexilant.
