The Canadian Identity

I'm supposed to write an informal essay on how climate change has affected the Canadian identity, more specifically that of young Canadians and need some help. I've written that that less snow/ shorter winters changes the Canadian identity of being snowy and cold. WHAT ELSE!? i need help

Write about Roll Up The Rim To Win and how when people don't win on their cups they litter them everywhere which causes global warming.

with the current trend of warming in canadia, the collective population has become smarter. All the dumbass canadians go out ice fishing and drown when the fall through the thin melted ice. As the ice fishers die out, only the not retarded canadians are left to reproduce

The topic is based on a false premise. Global warming is such a gradual trend that it is completely outstripped by population growth, changes in labour dynamics, technological advancement, and a plethora of other things that in combination effect whatever you want to call the "Canadian Identity". Trying to separate out a totally imperceptible (from the average person's everyday perspective) factor and assess its impact is impossible and frankly stupid. The biggest impact climate change has had on Canadian culture is I guess its part in spurring the growth of environmentalism in this country, so I would focus on that.

yup thanks j.d. good point and do you think having a point about how we are viewed on a global scale because of how poorly we performed to reduce green house gases for the kyoto protocol affects our identity?

thats a stupid fucking topic, tell your teacher they are fucking insane. write an essay disagreeing with the topic of that essay and say that the climate change has not affected the Canadian identity at all. because i gaurantee you it hasnt. no canadians are out there like "WOW THE TEMPURATURE IS POSSIBLE GOING TO INCREASE SEVERAL TENTHS OF A DEGREEE OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL HUNDRED YEARS!! IM GOING TO START LIVING MY ENTIRE LIFE IN AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT MANNER AND ASSOCIATING MYSELF WITH MY NATIONALITY IN AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT WAY!!"

its an impossible point to prove. because it doesnt happen.

climate change is incredibly gradual. thing's havent changed enough to change our country's identity. this winter has been the same as any other. it's when sea levels rise and the jet stream shifts thats when things will start to differ and the collective socio-cultural identity of our country might differ.

That's a tricky topic seeing as the basis of it is so controversial, you'd be better off making 2 out of the three paragraphs theoretical and talk about how if global warming was to elevate average temperatures and shrink our winter to whatever how things would change.
But if it's like mine and you actually have to identify Canada as it is now you could discuss Canadian's fear of such a thing happening and then give reasons why.

well since canada is known for this kind of stuff:

so the environment is pretty important for our identity.
