So i sent my jps vs jl in to get warrantied but they couldn't get them under warranty so they are hooking me up with a new pair for 180 because my others were beat to shit. Now i have the option to size up to the 188s. I'm 5'8-9" about 200 and the 178s were really fun, seemed like they got chopping at high speeds and seemed like they weren't too stable in crud etc but they were awesome in trees and pow. The 188 would give me more stability and more float etc. I know i could handle them, and i should still be able to spin off of cliffs and shit with the 188s. So 178 or 188?

You are a good enough skier technically (freestyle backround) to handle the 188. I took some 186 prophet 100s out earlier this year, and loved the extra edge as well as float. Go long!

im like 5-10 145 and i just ordered some 188s that are in the mail. i think i should be able to handle em cause they have z12s but i was tempted to get 178s cause my park skis are 176... i think you should be able to handle the 188s at your size but i can imagine the 178s being fun. what size are your park skis? if the jps are your only skis you should also take that into account

good call, just mount them a tad more forward.

I think you'll like the 188's better.

Don't actually mount them forward, mount them on the line. People bigger than you are mounting -2cm from the line.
