The bunch

I get cinematography and stuff and i think that the bunch's videos are pretty good, but like i wanna see some pure skiing. Especially with the stacked crew they have itd be fun to see just 10-15 minutes of pure skiing. Dunno if anyone else wants to see that i was jw.

idk man, the bunch has put out so much content over the years as a crew that I feel like they need to push the envelope cinematography wise. there are tons of edits on their youtube that are pure skiing and their earlier movies were a lot more like classic ski porn, but lots of b roll has always been kinda their thing

I honestly really enjoy Jnilla as an editor and I think he is really talented. The opening of Interpretation was really fun to watch.

Btw im not saying the bunch should just stop all the cinematography and cool shots and totally change what they do. Just itd be fun to see a video with some of the guys in the bunch just skiing.

Yeah i didnt really look into it that much and i just posted about something that popped into my head. But ill go watch some of the older videos

I said the same thing in another thread and not many people agreed with me. The cinematography stuff is really cool and well done but there's just so much of it that it takes away from the skiing

Yea, I don't really go for a 'Bunch' of B-roll, but respect all the editing work and time it takes.

I think a lot of folks do like all the other than skiing BS. It's like let's do some silly stuff and film it.

I hate doing that stuff. I guess that's pretty obvious to any that have seen my stuff.

Much love to The Bunch!

B rolls dope i love it

Prove my point you do!

Let's watch kids destroy some shit, pound some beer, smoke some herb, and do all kinds of silly stuff.

Video must be at least 50% of other than skiing.

Maybe I should try some of that? Ha ha. Maybe call it Grandpa Cam!

I get that. I grew up on those early 00s Level 1 movies, so straight ski edits always got a place in my heart.

But I remember watching the Rube Goldberg shit in Long Story Short and being like, "these dudes just changed the fucking game." All of a sudden the culture was being pushed by the people behind the camera, not just the skiers in front of it.

It was like, the whole industry was free to rethink everything - from tricks to camera angles to cut scenes to what deserved to be filmed in the first place. The sport became equal parts artistry and athleticism. Everyone involved was pushing the sport forward, so from that perspective I love what the Bunch crew is doing. I think they're honoring everything ski culture is today. They're giving us crazy tape, but they're also celebrating the creativity and camaraderie of the sport.

The bunch are great skiers but they seem to be too obsessed with doing new shit and being progressive as opposed to doing tried and true things aesthetically and trying to have good style.

I like watching ppl like delorme and others ski park bc they make it look effortless style wise.

Also i didnt know bubbles from trailer park boys was a member of the bunch

Check out the b roll in Magam 1. Added so much to the vibe of the vid of mt hood

love it, very personal. the bunch has so much emotion because of the broll.

it’s just good to see crews make whatever the fuck they wanna make, whether it’s something like the bunch, or 30 min of straight bangers like zoot. doesn’t have to be a right way to do it, different styles with it are all dope approaches. if one thing is not your cup of tea there are plenty of other projects to enjoy.

The Bunch has a very artistic direction, their skiing is pretty much made to be showcased alongside weird b-roll and avant-garde music etc. Like their whole thing is progression and experimentation so I think what they're doing currently is the gnarliest shit ever lol

In matching socks, I wouldn't even consider the non skiing scenes b-roll. It doesn't feel like extra footage they just put in, it seems deliberate with a lot of time and effort put into making it look nice.

If there’s no B roll, shenanigans, cine shots then I don’t wanna see it. Gotta have the whole experience

All the above! ^^^^ Grapes & Bananas!

I like how they do it, watch it like a normal movie, grab a beer and chill out. I feel like you can appreciate every trick more when there’s artsy b-roll in between or you watch em prepping/talking about a spot or trick.
