The Boondock Saints

Really? He's a "shithead" for posting something in NSG, the most broad forum of them all. Sure it could've gone in Media & Arts, but really, REALLY, are you too big of an asshole to point that out in a nice way?
 
Because it was released straight to DVD/limited theatre release, most people haven't seen it, and when one of their friends whos friend showed them shows them it, they get excited cause it's a dank movie.

I saw it in 2000, so bah!
 
Film noir is a detective style movie, kind of like Brick...

So I dunno how Boonies is like film noir...
 
Mainly, that's what people associate with film noir.

But it also involves crime, murder, color scheme, lighting, a lot of things really.

There is an investigation going on inside the movie anyway. Willem Dafoes character was trying to solve the murders.

I guess I was looking for more of a clear cut detective style, but I guess it is a good film noir.

Oh and Dafoes character is so funny in that movie...
 
the director is trying to make a sequel called "all saints day" but is running into problems with lawyers and junk
 
I will give you one good reason....the whole principal of the movie revolves around 3 vigilantes taking the law in to their own hands, killing as they see fit.  I bet half of you bandwagon jumpers love this movie but are against capital punishment.  I dont care what you say, killing someone is killing someone, you dont get to play god and judge who should or should not die.
 
You dont have to beleive in the ideas to love the movie. I like it for

the bravery, and maybe im crazy, but in some cases their right, but at

the same time its not fair to do.
 
no doubt its a fucking good movie... but one of the greatest of all time? probs giving it more credit than it deserves.
 
To be 100% honest with you, I did enjoy the movie to some extent, however the way everyone trys to say its the best movie ever annoys me.  It was good, but nothing too special.
 
thats a really bizarre reason for not liking a movie. i hereby ban you from watching any movie about the mafia, and also all comedys as often jokes are made at the expense of innocent characters.

oh, and boondock fuckin rocks.
 
love this movie...best part is when that irish song comes on and htey go on a kiling spree.s ick movie im guna go watch itnow
 
i think one of the reasons its so amazing is the fact that there hadn't really been another movie like it ever released.

it tells the whole story of the 2 bros and then dafoe has all those flashbacks and figures out the crimes and goes along wit it cuz they only knockin off bad guys...

its the ultimate guy movie... killing, humor, crime, etc etc

the funniest part is when they shoot the cat and then rocco goes " is it dead?"
 
Im pretty sure your argument is pretty close along the lines of all the mothers of america who think than violence in video game is spawning serial killers. There is far mroe to a movie than a little bit of violence. I don't plan and going out and shooting all the drug dealers and pimps in boston, but I can still enjoy the message, the plot development, symbolism, character development and filming style of this movie. your "reasonable argument" is about as 2D as an argument can get.
 
Ahahaha the second time I watched that movie with my friends (Steez_nips and mtbakerguy) we rewinded it and rewatched the cat exploding over and over and over again with Rocco saying, "is it dead?" about 12 times...
 
Yea dude...i get it now it was such a badass movie.  I now realize it is the best movie I have Seen and will ever see.  I hearby retract all arguments because it is so obviously the best movie of all time, and it has an amazing message.  I now realize that all movies require to be good is gore and a couple of laughs.  
 
yeah you. i agree that there are obvious capital punishment issues in the movie but you just have to step back and accept it for what it really is... a movie.... a pretty badass one at that. now i cant go saying that it is the best movie ever, fuck there have been tons of amazing films but it was extremely enjoyable and really shouldnt be talked down on
 
Alright sorry that might have been a bit rude.  I just dont feel I need ppl telling me im an asshole just because i dont like this movie as much as seemingly all of NS does.
 
After seeing that movie, i've been wanting to a picture of Mother Mary tattooed on my neck. I also started smoking cigarettes and drinking beer.
