The blank post pages

Are awful, especially in threads where a lot of stuff gets deleted (2012 gear thread). Can we pleaaaase put that at the top of the list of NS repairs.

I don't think ghost pages are fixable. When a users gets the biggest ban hammer, which removes all of their posts and existence on this site, is where the ghost pages come from. Right? So if they get all their posts removed, the pages won't catch up until the amount of posts removed from the page add back up. Or am I wrong?

a change in the script for calculating the # pages could perhaps fix it...

right now it's probably with a post counter that gets +1 for every post, then /50 and displays that # pages

while it should be better if you could somehow get the actual number of posts /50 and display that amount of pages instead of with a counter that gets +1 for every post....
