Ok, so heres the list:

A) - Ohio State VS. Michigan

B) - Yankees VS. Red Sox

C) - Duke VS. North Carolina

D) - USA VS. Russia

E) - Army VS. Navy

If I forgot any, feel free to add, but my vote goes for OSU VS MICHIGAN.
 
Yeah I couldn't get tickets this year, but I can't wait till next year when we play them at the Shoe.
 
Im suprised no one has said UNC Duke. That is a pretty intense matchup. Watching that game on T.V. is ridiculous, i cant imagine being there.
 
what? that rivalry isn't very old....

it used to be the boston pats, and the baltimore colts, and they weren't even in the same league i don't think

at least the OSU vs. Michigan one is over a century old, but i think the red sox vs. yankee one is more widespread and better known.

college basketball:north carolina vs. duke

college football:ohio state vs. michigan

I'm going to reiterate this.

I don't think Sox and Yankess fans have sectarian violence or sing songs about killing each other. Now if we're talking about the biggest rivalry in North America, thats a different story. But really, there are no other sports rivalries in the world that spark more competition and hatred.
 
lol these two guys raced MAYBE a hand full of times. michael johnson is the greatest 200-400 running of all time. bailey holds how many records right now??? johnson still holds 2....for over ten years. bailey is fast for 100 meters, maybe even 200. bailey beat him in 97 indoors after johnson pulled up lame. johnson the year before, shattered 2 records that have yet to be beat. i think the facts speak for themselves.

 
Yanks vs. Sox, though I'm a big fan of the high school rivalries. Like my high school and the one in the next town over, if your from Ichabod, you hate Chatham , and if you're from Chatham you hate Ichabod. every game is paaacked, kids get in fights, faces are painted, pranks, vandalism... its a beautiful thing
 
Quinney$ wins....im in ireland right now for a semester and have been here 3 times previous. ireland and the seperation of the north and south has caused violence since the early 1900's. the battle between the rangers (northern) and celtic (southern) although based in scotland, is out of this world. north american sports get extremely intense and the fans do get riled up, maybe a few fights here and there. but the hatred between the rangers and celtic goes far beyond fun and games....the violence expressed in past years has been brutal. its an epic sports rivalry. epic
 
Oh but it does, because OSU and Michigan are tied in the Big Ten right now, so this weekend is for the BIg Ten and also it is for the Roseball. The rivalry is huge right now, all because Illinois beat OSU.
 
ottawa is establish since 1994 I think, no long enough to get a real rivlary, montreal and toronto are there from the beginning
 
^ bull fuckin shit, Ottawa Vs. Toronto is a massive rivalry, the fans would rip eachothers heads off and get someone with aids to pee in there bodies and then sew there heads back on so they die a long painful death with aids.

and by the way I think stupid irish red sox fan start punching derek jeter after he makes a diving catch in the crowd is pretty violent
 
Dont forget... Hajduk Split and Dynamo Zagreb had a riot on the pitch, and it started the war in Bosnia.

Imagine if Hitler started ww2 by having Germany start a fight on the pitch with France or England... yeah, its kinda like taht.
 
haha and does michael johnson run those events??? didnt think so, are those events in the summer olympics?? didnt think so....

i never said bailey was a bad runner, i just said that argument as the best rivalry ever was average at best. the ran less then a hand full of races. michael is a 2-4 runner. bailey 50-150. your argument does not stand my friend, i appreciate the effort though
 
please try and not cross the line of calling the irish stupid. maybe die hard but not stupid. and last time i checked they won the world series last month. not hating on the yankees they do have far more rings, but most recent...the sox.

this just goes to prove the traits of rivalries develop from their ancestors...which again goes to the irish.

rangers vs. celtic...plenty of blood and lives have been shed in this on going feud between the two. the rivalry began far beyond the sports
 
Ya i just watched a series on the OSU Michigan rivalry...It was really sad to see Woody Allen go out like that =\....It was also very sad to see Bo die two days before the OSU Michigan game.
