The price of wide brakes....
IT'S AN OUTRAGE
I think they make a good 400% + profit on motherfuckin brakes
It is going to cost me $100 to get my bents bounted (60 for the brake and 40 for the mount)
this is especially painful, because I moved this year so I quit my job at my local shop where mounting is free and I would have gotten the brake 40% off.
I hate having the skills to mount them myself, and not being allowed to, plus the tech at this place I went seemed like he'd fuck it up. I hope he can find the big line I drew with "mount here" written on it

sounds like some one is using some markers this year. I know that at our shop (we have the 110 and 90 breaks for the Jesters/Dukes) and will just give people whichever one they want, and if they come back in to get them mounted will switch out the breaks for free (if they bought the bindings from us), Sorry that your shop does not do that.

You could try bending them to save yourself the $60

bend em yourself, its really not too hard. all you need is a vice and a pair of vice grips and it takes like 5 minutes if it's a removable brake. you'd have to be retarded to fuck that up, but if you did, you're about to buy another pair anyways. and go to a different shop, 40 bucks is not right for mounting.

$30-$40 is standard for mounting, you may be able to get cheaper at some big box store, but the probability of your skis getting fucked up is much higher. pay the extra $15 to get them mounted in an actual ski shop.

shit the marker shop form sells the wide brakes for 30 friggin dollars! I agree with you that the brake prices are crazy, i think I bought my line 1260s on clearance for cheaper than the price for brakes lol.

thats so bullshit after working in a shop mounts literally take 5 minutes tops and so easy to not screw up and 40$ is just rediculous for that

sry to double post but while were on the topic of biggest hoax in ski industry id have to say lunch prices also top that category to idk what else im sure theres plenty

but at the same time. you go to a shop and they mount them in the right place. how you want them to

Careful when you bend any brake, but especailly a Jester (any marker royal brake), the plastic is super brittle and can snap in between the two screw beds. You can replace them yourself it is super easy. Salomons are easy too, just remember to line up the tabs going toward the front of the binding then press the brake downward and tighten.

yeah, I have jesters...I have the 90mm brake, wouldn't it be too short one I bend it out to hellbent width?
