The Big Nut Open @ Chestnut!

The dates for friday night rail jams have been set back. The first one will be on the 29th, but "fantastic fridays" will start on the 8th, meaning chestnut will be open till midnight.

Be there, last year everything was set-up really well, but there wasn't a very good showing by skiers, there were maybe 7? I don't know, it was really weak. They have a ton of legit prizesfor open class + cash for the other classes.

I think i saw you and your friends today. Correct me if I'm wrong, a couple of you were pretty good and wearin black, and the other was a kid in purple who kinda sucked.

shit i can't go i have to go to tyrol for a gay ass race there FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

it says on the website "snowboard competition" or something, but I'm assuming you guys know what your talking about and there will be skiers too...?
i wanna try and come down with some fellow wisconsinites for the weekend because i've heard GOOD things about chestnut

Wutsup trevor, I met you yesterday at free flow. This is cheddarfries' friend austin. and ya there will be a ski division, and I think we got more sponsers for the event than are on the website, and they're all ski companies.

Chestnut's first friday night rail jam of the year is this friday, the 29th. The setup will be complete sometime this week. They already have the biggest mound of snow I have ever seen pushed, all that's left is to throw some jibbs on that bitch.

just got back from riding there yesterday, and they have done a really really good job with the park on farside. Big jump is $$$ and the jibs are perfect

can't wait its gonna be so sick. they put in the rail garden on friday and its lookin pretty legit, now all they gotta do is get the slope course on blackhawk

We definitely need some skiers to come down this friday for the rail jam. Most of the skiers that usually compete will be at some ridiculous race at Cascade and it looks like there might not even be enough skiers for our own division this weekend. There's prizes in giftcard form, so come on down and take our money, please! We need a legit skier division this weekend.

what do you mean by non-open and open class?? its guna be a sick ass time! everyone is guna be straight up killin. and a couple of us have been killin at our private park (wilmot) so watch the fuck out. lol

Open class would mean that it is open to anyone who wants to enter, and non-open would be the younger age divisions. and no offense but wilmot? lol do they actually have a park?

I'm thinking about coming down for this... do I need to sign up online somewhere? How much does it cost? Lift tickets? Event schedule? Any other details?

definitely missed the post with the info, my bad. But... is it just on site registration or is there somewhere online?

haha wutup brandon. There is no online registration as of now, just on site starting at 9:30. I don't think that's going to change, but if it does i'll post the linkup.

looks pretty legit, ill be up there that day but i dunno if ill compete, is the slopestyle on the main hill or in the park?

They're gonna build the slope course on blackhawk which is on the main hill. The comp is gonna be super legit and alot of fun. Its laid back and theres a ton of product so if you'll be there anyways it'd definitely be worth it for you to compete.

Just got the box painted today...that is a thought that the boss has but we will see. Started pushing snow today...snow underneath was like freshly made snow!!!!!! The thought is for 3-5 jumps... Size and amount will depend upon speed while doing some trial and error (knock on wood) this week...New down flat down double barrell just finished today that looks super mellow(who know what it really looks like when it is in the snow until it is really there!!!!) but more info tomorrow after another day of pushing snow...also last week we discovered how to do some creative grooming designs using the tiller we have never seen before and some sick checkerboard designs with the shrakes so arrive as early as you can for the rest of the season to see what it looks like...Most days FARSIDE opens around 10-12 AM depending upon how much work needs to be done.....FARSIDE is hands down one of if not the best well groomed 'public' parks in the midwest! If anyone has any concerns about our parks at Chestnut send me a personal message here on NS!!!

hell yeah! this is sounding better and better by the minute. Is there gonna be time to practice on the course before the event starts?
