The better laptop

No one said there was a problem with that. People are saying macs are better, which they are indeed not. It is all about what you use it for. You wanna edit videos, use memory intensive software, or play games? Buy a PC. Wanna look on NS, look like a hipster and just listen to music or watch movies? Buy a mac. It's that simple.

I built a mega fucking sick computer over a year ago for architecture for about 60% less than a MBP with anything even close to resembling a slight hint of what I have (but doesn't) and about 80% less than a G4, and I get to run Rhino (oops, can't run that on a mac), any Autodesk product including Maya & 3DS max (oops, you need bootcamp for that shit, so much for the OS being so savvy), catia (once again, mac can't do it)

Just because architecture/arts majors are the biggest Mac fanboy crowd doesn't mean they actually do a better job.

apple makes impressive workstations. the mac pro is impressive and no other pc manufacturer has built a line-up even comparable or as close to reputable.
now your $3500 pieced together machine might be all this and a bag of frito-lays, but lets face it when someone says "oh yeah, i have a mac pro, my machine can handle it", you have no question, or doubt in their ability.
Meanwhile ya hear the PC lovas say OH dude I got the NEW! Toshiba AS-5625Lxi-TB with BLUETOOTH! Meanwhile everyone says well thats sweet, what the fuck is that again? Are you sure it can run it?

:)

Quoted for importance.

I hate when Mac-whores make try and say Macs are more secure than PC's. The only reason Mac's aren't being attacked as much (which yes, they are nonetheless), is because PC's make up around 90-93% of the market. Hackers don't find worth the time.

Currently running a work-in-progress version of Rhino on my Mac right now! A final version of Rhino 5 for mac should be released sometime within the coming year after Rhino 5 for Windows is released. Also, they just released AutoCad 2011 for mac last month. So no, I don't need bootcamp to run either of those, my mac OS works just fine. Thank you for being so up to date on current product releases :)

Haha you're an idiot. No one would say the model of his toshiba like you said. They would say:

Ya I have a 2GB Dedicated GPU with 8gb DDR3 RAM a Core i7 and a 256GB SSD drive.

It might even have better than that, but anyone who is actually intelligent about computers will know how good of a setup that is.

But in all seriousness, they are both good laptops. It really depends on what OS you prefer and/or how much money your are willing to spend.

i work at an apple authorized service center (that also is a partner with IBM/Lenovo, HP, and Sony) and we get overnighted parts directly from the company (apple, ibm, lenovo, cisco, whatever) whenever we do a warranty claim.
all warranty work is free also. the customers pay nothing, and its done in 1-5 business days. anything beyond that and our ratings go down and we make less money.
1 month....we would be charged for the part and not paid for the labor if we did that shit. there is no excuse for the turn around time you or whoever experienced.

a shitty misinformed one at best, anyone who brings up "hipster" in a Mac vs. Windows debate is stupid
just my opinion bra, you mad?

It just depends on what you are going to be doing. If you are looking to edit and use photoshop and shit then get a macbook, but if you want to game then go with a pc. It's really just preference but I personally love mac.
