Terrain Park Safety Education Program

With the incredibile popularity of all the new features in our Terrain Park located on Look Mom Trail this season, Wachusett will be implementing a new Terrain Park Safety Education Program policy that will take effect beginning Monday, February 7. This new policy is designed to provide a safer environment for all riders and skiers in the alpine park.

The new policy includes 4 basic steps. All park riders and skiers must:

Watch a new 'Smart Style Safety Education Video' which will be available in a desginated area near the ski patrol building at the top of Minuteman Quad Chairlift.

Sign a waiver form indicating they have viewed the safety education video.

Pay a one-time $5 Park Pass fee. (NOTE: This fee will be used to offset the costs to administer the program. This will also go towards the raffle of a new snowboard on March 20 after the 'Freeride Frenzy' Terrain Park event. All Park Pass holders are eligible to win the new snowboard.)

Receive and carry a 'Park Pass' Card indicating they have completed the new safety education program.

Skiers and riders who do not complete the Smart Style Safety Education program may use the smaller terrain park features that will be located on Hitchcock trail and in other locations around the mountain

fuckin a, waterville needs this shit too, our park is over run with little kids and people who can barely ski just cause it's in the middle of the mountain at the bottom and it's a poma...they need to restrict it to people who can ski and have a park pass

yah it is an amazing idea, but it kinda sucks that they're raffling off a board with the $5 it would be cool if they used all the money to improve the park tho

Im loven it. The park is gonna be so much better.

Because all the little kids wont be in the way. Such a good idea.

 
i was there on fri and this girl on a snowboard was crawling on the up-down box, when i told her to stop, she was like 'Why?' all whiney and shit. i can't wait for the park pass

i like the idea, but i only go there on fridays with my school, so how am i gonna get into the park? and this is the only reason I do go to wawa

Yes, was up there Monday night and the park was much better, I didn't get cutoff once! A lot less people in it, and yes, they were checking for the park pass at the entrance.

I was also surprised how many features they have in the 2nd park on lower hitchcock (no park pass needed there) I imagine it will get pretty crazy over there

The video was kind of a joke, but it's better than nothing I suppose

Snow was fast, landings were soft, park was empty

An excellent night, even though I only made it up for 1 1/2 hours, well worth it!

yesterday, i was hikin the park and i looked on the other park where you don't need the park pass. It was ridiculous. people everywhere! I'm still kinda surprised that some of the little kids still bothered but it's still 100% better than before

I don't remember actually having to sign anything for the pass, just filled out my info on a card (name, age, address etc...) watched the movie and paid $5

A signature from a minor would be worthless anyway

 
i was there on fri night and it was sooooo much better. i only got snaked twice, and both got out of the way after i yelled at them. plus the wawa park is the best i've ever seen it.

ugh all the racers and the little kids are buying park passes!!!!!! OMG NO! it defeats the purpose hmm we'll at least itz a lil bit better.

 
^no shit dude. that thing is a really good ideal but they should descrminate over who can get one. (that might be illegal though, but who gives a fuck?)
