The best skis...

...are the ones you get for free.

Went to the Rage Films premiere of Such Is Life at Squaw Valley last night and was lucky enough to win a brand new pair of Moment Comi skis in the raffle after the movie (the movie was awesome, btw). These skis are freakin' enormous! 136mm underfoot! Dunno if I'm gonna keep 'em, they might be a little more ski than I need. We'll see though.

...you are one lucky man

..i would love to ride those just to see waht it would be like to ride waterskis on snow

No, those aren't water skis, those would be the Donner Party's.

Those Comi's are such ill skis though. I want to try them out sometime, what's the flex like?

sorry misunderstanding...they got to be around same underfoot as waterskiis at that size...so the experience would be similar

Well 136 is still huge, wider then hellbents underfoot.

You are one lucky man. If i was you i'd go buy some lottery tickets.

The best skis they give away at freshtival are park skis and you have to answer questions right to get them :(

damn, all I got from the CLAIM premiere in Vancouver was 15% off from backcountry and helly, a couple stickers and a poster with my free powder magazine. Apparently their "swag" was held up at customs. Laaame.

on a scale of 1-10, how was Such Is Life?

i bought it from the NS store but i probably won't be receiving it for about 4 months, and i have yet to hear a legit review of it.

Yo.... rather than try to sell them on here or something (which is kinda lame) I would talk to the Moment dudes and see if you can maybe trade for a pair of Reno jibs or something you'll use. That way you still get to rock a new pair of free skis, and support moment.

Rather than just selling them and making money off their generosity.

I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10. I really liked how it was filmed, not too artsy, but some pretty clever camera angles and good filming quality. A little jib-heavy for my taste, but there was still some big mountain shredding. Good soundtrack too, seemed to go really well with the footage. The editing was pretty cool. Lots of good graphic tricks and other computer trickery. I dunno anything about film editing, so you'll have to excuse my lack of technical terms. It was cool to see footage of lots of lesser-known skiers too. I hadn't heard of several of the riders in the movie.

That's a good idea. The Moment team manager was at the premiere and gave me his card and told me to keep in touch and send him pics of me on the new skis, so maybe I'll shoot him an e-mail and see if I can trade 'em for the Bibby Pro or the Ruby.
